it's very lucrative, but your success will depend on whether or not your crafting gear is pentamelded. i'm not sure how feasible it is if it's not.

The normal raids are definitely a couple steps down from the difficulty of the first tier of the Eden raids.

They certainly feel like unless last expac where savage took normal and kind of reimagined them that this is taking more of the WoW normal to heroic approach of the normal mode essentially missing the heroic mechanics, but we'll see. There are a few elements that appear in these fights that end up not doing anything, which is very strange.

Their approach to designing raids always used to be the same - the savage would be made first, then it would be nerfed to create the normal difficulty. Eden's Promise was the first time they began with normal difficulty then made savage on top of that. I suppose it remains to be seen whether they continued with that approach!

Had an expert roulette where I got the last MSQ dungeon. On the last boss, the healer and BLM ate complete shit and died at about 50%. That boss puts out a crazy amount of aoe damage for a dungeon boss so we're just screwed, right?

Well. The tank was a warrior. And apparently WAR can heal other players now? And they can do it REALLY WELL? So with some clutch second winds and Troubador use, I did not die.

WAR has always had the best self-healing but this was insane. Straight up blue healer shit.

WAR's been able to heal another player since Shadowbringers. And yes, WAR healing is insanely good. It's one of the strongest arguments in favor of bringing the job.

Oh really? I've never seen a WAR use it to this extent before. Whatever they did to it, it seemed to be able to heal me while retaining the ability to solo heal itself at the same time which is what is truly impressive. I suppose PLD could do that with Clemency but that's always a bit clunky.

Warrior healing is why I'm levelling the class lol. Unlike all other heal-on-hit stuff in the game it scales with the number of targets hit with a flat heal for each one, so 8~s every 25s in mass trash pulls they're effectively invulnerable (I usually outheal the healer by a lot). In dungeon boss fights they can extremely easily handle all tank damage with their other self heals too. I did a 3 dps 1 war run of doma castle the other day and it was nowhere near challenging, though the rdm did have to spot heal the other dps every now and then because I didn't have nascent flash at that level.

Nascent Flash is a shared cooldown with Bloodwhetting, so they're giving up a tiny bit of personal mitigation and a small shield, but if theres actually someone to heal it's almost a good idea to Nascent Flash someone else if it saves the healer a gcd or two. Nascent Flash duplicates the healing they would have gotten off of Bloodwhetting to another target.

Finished the Stormblood bard quests.

It was pretty meh. The level 70 mission/final fight seemed relatively generic. A new version of straight arrow is pretty sweet though!

Yes, you can run the fight as many times per week as you want, and as long as you have not received a token from that fight you can still roll on everything.

Yeah they don't reset the raid tokens at the same time as other weeklies roll over, presumably specifically to prevent doing them multiple times on day 1.

A lot of the resets are staggered in general.

i realized the other day i can repair 90 equipment with my level 80 crafters, so my desire to max out all the crafters quickly plummeted. It'll suck to need a vendor to meld materia until i get around to it but so long as i can repair my own gear i'm ok

Not sure if we know how much craftsmanship will be needed for the next set of recipes, but if you had that number you'd basically want to get that much craftsmanship, as much CP as possible, and then after that the rest in control.

I really enjoyed P4 when I did it but I think in retrospect P3 is the better fight because it requires the most execution on top of observation.

P4 I feel like will be super, super easy in a few weeks once the bad pubbies finish figuring out the mechanics. It's actually really hard to get hit by anything in that fight once you know what does what because you have like a full 10 seconds of telegraph before each move.

It's only 500 tomes of the uncapped tomestone. You can literally get that in a day or two solely doing roulettes.

I've geared 2 jobs in almost entirely tomestone gear already just doing Hunt Trains alone in the last week.

buying the tome weapon should be something you do pretty early because of how hugely impactful weapon damage as a stat is, far more so than any substats. the only reason you might not want to is if you're confident you can and want to farm the ex trail without it but i think assuming everyone even wants to do ex trials is lol
