Given how long her fiction had been around, I thought she was closer to 90.

I think the only one of her books I read was The Mummy, which was alright. She was a huge name for a long time but I didn't really get into anything she wrote or had adapted for film, although her influences were pretty widely felt.

Her bibliography is a lot smaller than I expected. 36 novels doesn't seem like a huge amount given the length of her career. She got her start around the same time as Stephen King, and he's had 63 novels on top of anthologies, tv projects, etc.

I wasnt personally very appreciative of what I read of her work but I do appreciate the contribution she had to the writing world and overall popular culture as an enjoyer of vampire fiction

RIP

Ive been reading Memnoch the Devil for the past week. Its prety boring of all the Vampire books of hers.

Anne Rice her vampire books are good the ones that I have read but there are times when she got carried away with the vampires and their sex lives.

Armand the novel I read half of it a decade ago. Some of the sexual stuff with the vampires doing things in bathtubs.... jeez louise.

quit reading that. It was like soft core porn gone bonkers

Yeah the first three books in the vampire series were very inspirational for a young me, but I had to eventually stop reading them for this very reason.

I tried to read Interview with the Vampire when I was 13 I think. I couldn't get into it probably because I was so young.

Wow that is really sad.

On top of the vampire novels she did the sleeping beauty trilogy which was kinda like 50 shades but kinkier.

Loved her Lestat books (though the first in the series wasn't my favorite due to Louie being a freaking whiny bitch). She will be missed.
