Also, they're using up our taxes on medical treatment and taking up hospital beds that are needed by truly sick people

Because when someone hits me with their car I don't want to die because all of the hospital beds are taken up by people who didn't get vaccinated.

They need to get vaccinated and wear a fucking mask. Instead of behaving worse than children.

-creating new variants
-putting immunocompromised/people with contraindication to the vaccine at risk
-extending the toll the pandemic has taken on healthcare workers (including myself)

Because that's not how vaccines work. That's not how they've ever worked.

No vaccine has 100% effectiveness, which means the only way to keep everyone safe is to have vaccination rates high enough to decrease transmissibility.

Mainly because theyre still spreading it to the vaccinated. Theyre still killing innocent people with their irresponsibility.

Vaccinations arent a 100% protection, so leper gnome Karen can still kill people by existing unvaccinated

some people cant get vaccinated due to legitimate medical issues, and leper gnome Karen existing unvaccinated is a punishment to these people who dont have a remedy to the situation other than herd immunity which is being held hostage by bioterrorists

The best way I can compare it is to drunk driving. Driving sober doesn't guarantee you won't have a wreck, but that doesn't mean driving drunk has the same risk.

I have laughed at many stories of unvaccinated people dying. The problem is those people are wasting hospital beds for the ones who truly deserve them.

I have laughed at many stories of unvaccinated people dying. The problem is those people are wasting hospital beds for the ones who truly deserve them.

I can't go into details because of privacy laws, but I have literally had a patient pass away because they couldn't get emergency surgery due to a lack of available beds within 1,000 miles for transfer. And those bets were absolutely filled with unvaccinated COVID patients. Anti-vaxxers killed that person.

Coronaviruses are poorly immunogenic. We've known that for decades due to studies in animals. That's why the Omicron variant is reinfecting people who had previous variant infections.

But people who are vaccinated are 70 to 80% less likely to contract the disease, and greater than 90% less likely to be hospitalized and/or die.

If you're asking how many times we have to get vaccinated before coronavirus goes away, you've missed the bigger picture. It's not how many times we need to be vaccinated, it's what percentage vaccination rate we need to achieve. All countries that have gone above 80% vaccination rates have essentially eliminated covid deaths, with infections being primarily in the young.

The problem is that misinformation and people who think they're smarter than public health officials have f***** it up for everyone, and they're not even smart enough to realize they did.

The mumps vaccine, for example, is actually less effective than the coronavirus vaccines. When's the last time you saw a case of mumps? The reason is because over 90% of Americans are vaccinated against it, so it has a low probability of being transmitted.

You understand that the reason for the mutations is because of the spread of the virus, yes. More vaccination = less spread. Less spread = less mutations. Less mutations = less need for vaccine. That's why vaccines are so encouraged. This is how we were able to defeat other viral diseases like polio and smallpox, for example.

It is honestly a modern wonder that over the course of hundreds of thousands of years humans have dealt with viral diseases, and only in the last couple hundred years have we finally found a way to beat viruses back. And yet, despite that, there is a surprisingly large number of people today fighting not to use it.

Because vaccines and herd immunity have always been proven to be the best way to curb a disease.

Because millions of people not getting vaccinated allows a virus to live on and evolve to wear vaccines can become useless

It's nothing short of astonishing to me that we've allowed centuries-old anti-vax propaganda to become an actual political platform.
