I told my mom to not go Christmas shopping alone this year. Theres been way too many people stealing at gunpoint and law enforcement here cant do much due to the relaxed laws.

Is that many people really leaving California? Everyone I work with keep saying Californians are ruining Utah, but I see way more east coast plates.

Since California doesnt enforce laws can't you just get away with not wearing a mask anyway?

I hope they keep leaving to places like Texas and turn all those red states blue

She's right about most of that.
We moved out of CA for the midwest in September.
My current salary is about a third of what I was making in CA but we went from a 2 bedroom apartment to a 3 bedroom house. We suspect that that within 3 years we'll be able to buy a huge mansion here.

That said, I liked Newsom, and the rest "sanctuary for illegals" is both bullshit and we should be helping more, not less.

So CA is both lawless and full of regulations. Gotcha.

A New York times article says that in 2020, if you compared the people leaving the state vs the people coming in, we lost 0.46% of our population. Every year before that, our total population increased. So people did leave, but that's certainly not a mass Exodus.

California's population grew 6.1% over the last ten years. Which is smaller than the national average of 7.4%, but hardly an exodus.

Republicans brag about a supposed California exodus while simultaneously being angry over a supposed California exodus

Don't forget that in CA, people will be able to sue others putting ghost guns and assault rifles on the streets. I'm sure she's pissed about that.
