That's kind of the point, the signs point out the obvious. it's how cumbersome and inefficient they are. It's a British totem pole. And it will be sandwiched between literally 4 or 5 others. It's rare enough that when you encounter it, it might be confusing on the fly, but on specific cases you'll appreciate the thoroughness. In Americanalavania, you can have a parking ticket turned by pointing out the obscurity of the signs.
