I feel like maybe we should change that.

The funny thing is that the subject line gives away the gist of the report, which suggests the Biden administration desperately wants to pretend it cant forgive student loan debt but the law says they can.

This is (part of) why I didnt vote for Biden: I couldnt convince myself the former senator responsible for making student loan debt non-dischargeable and who mocked loan forgiveness advocates was ever serious about forgiving a dime. I believed my lying eyes and ears instead.

I voted for Biden with the assumption that he probably wasn't actually going to cancel/forgive student loans at all.

I respect that, but a lot of people insisted that Biden would do all sorts of things that ran counter to his decades-long political career, including the Biden campaign, of course. Despite the evidence that Biden had/has a somewhat strained relationship with the truth, and Im still salty about getting gaslit aggressively by some, here and elsewhere.
Its important to be angered by this stuff. We might need that s as anger in the future.

because whom you vote for matters. if you paid attention to trump's presidency you should know that. Look at our supreme court now. And how the alt right voices have amplified since 2016. and how many people oppose vaccines. These are all the results of stupid voting. america could fix things if it would vote properly. I can understand some cynicism toward the candidates, but not to the point where you pretend like they're all horrible people who are as bad as each other which is obviously false. george carlin's cynicism doesn't apply because the republicans are so obviously worse.
