I guess you won't be watching this movie now that they've been given bad reviews because I know reviews dictates your world decisions.

I think this sort of self-aware style of moviemaking is something you either love or hate. I know The Many Saints of Newark was widely panned, at least in part for similar reasons, and I loved it. So regardless of where reviews are falling theres still a good chance Ill like the film.

Matrix 4 is just a cash grab, it is not ever going to hit the highs of the first movie which is a legit great film.

Matrix 2 and 3 could not even touch the greatness of the first movie.

The Matrix was good but way overrated. The sequels only got progressively worse. Not sure how anyone could have expected this to be any good.

Early opinions in areas where it opened (like Tokyo) say it's like Cloud Atlas, but even slower, and with a plot that doesn't really go anywhere. The critic AND audience opinion that exist right now seem to be mostly in agreement

Anyone who expected a good film was only setting themselves up for disappointment.

Ill still watch it. But Lana Wachowskihas has not been feeling this film since it started production. If you've been following her. Sometimes she's positive about it, other times, very much not so. And that says a lot.

The actors have been pushing this film a lot. Warner Brothers said that if a Wachowski wasn't going to make another Matrix film. They'll find someone who will. Unfortunately, this movie has the production of a very forced product. When looking behind the scenes.

I still want to watch it. Seems like a FUN film. A popcorn flick, which we do get plenty of today.

From what Ive been reading, you may love it or hate it but its not just a soulless cash grab. So, even if its a bit messy, it sounds like its at least ambitious and that should make it an interesting watch if nothing else.

Second highest rated Matrix movie at this point soooooooooo..yeah

Yeah, pretty much this. I have no interest in seeing the new one, and that's how I felt before the reviews so... (shrugs)

Most of the reviews are positive so this topic is entirely stupid. Also I've seen the movie and soulless/cash grab is the last thing it is

I don't care what reviews say, I've never paid attention to reviews anyway so they don't affect my decision if I want to see a movie.

Anyone who let's reviews dictate if they see a movie or not should be laughed at.

I think I'll let the reviews dictate my life this time around. Not gonna waste my time with this. All of the Matrix movies have sucked except the first one was amazing. I'm sure I'll weep on my death bed that I never saw Matrix 4 back in 2021 and scream, "damn you, critics!" before death takes me, but oh well.

Im trying to power through this movie but Id does suck.

My favorite part so far was when Trinitys husbands name was Chad

Ohhh this is you? Read it a couple of hours ago.

You know, Im not sure why someone would even consider a 69% (it jumped up a bit) RT score bad. Its not like a grade in school, the score means (nearly) 7 out of 10 people who watched it liked it. Ive watched plenty of movies with scores around 50% or even lower that were great, but just didnt fit everyones cup of tea for whatever reason.

Almost always if a movie has an absurdly low score, like a 7% or whatever, it got it because its a cheap, crappy film. Thats the only time I let reviews somewhat dictate my decision, but even then if theres something really driving me to watch the film I will.
