tl;dw summary:

Before DiCaprio was a huge star (pre-Titanic), some Canadian dude and his friends talked DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire into doing some kind of edgy, black and white indie flick where most if not all of the lines were adlibbed.

DiCaprio claims he thought this was just going to be an indie film short and not a feature length film that would actually be released. Maguire flipped out, because he thought the movie made him look bad and since DiCaprio outshined him in the movie.

Lots of accusations and allegations going back and forth. The end result is the movie was banned in America and Canada. There's a lot more to it than that, but I don't want to spoil it.

Has anyone watched it? lol.

From the few clips I've seen, the story behind the movie seems more interesting than the movie itself lol.

Yeah movie itself sounds boring.

If anything it sounds like a producer tried to shift the movie to be a full feature to bank on the rise of DiCaprio and Maguire, pissing them off and getting in legal trouble.

The claims that they don't want people to see it because of their performances are all claims made by the producer. Who seems to have basically done jack shit other than this movie.

In the movie Molly's Game, based off of real people, it is rumored that one of the biggest asshole poker players was basically Tobey Maguire.

The trailer for Molly's Game looked hella dumb though. Don's Plum looks much better.
