I mean, it takes even less than that. You got them white people getting an ancestry test to show them they're 4% black. Then in their minds, they can't be racist if they're that thing. When they're literally 4% black because their ancestors were conquering and taking advantage everyone in the world >_>. That 4% is literally there through a very VERY racist event. But, some just looking for that pass. Like, you're not personally responsible for the conquering. But, when you end up using that to your advantage in the present, it's not good.

We were both at the same workplace. She was new and she started chatting to me in a friendly way, and it became a morning ritual each day. What seemed really weird to me was that I found myself responding like a normal human being. I began thinking about her when she wasn't around. I just couldn't find her unattractive, despite me "knowing" that I "ought" to. And that was the start of everything. The more I saw her, the more I talked with her, the more conflicted I felt and I became acutely aware I was grappling with a whole shitload of cognitive dissonance.

Even if true, it comes off as an attempt for racist freedom with immunity. There should be no hate behind intent when talking about other races or it's still racist. Hell, having hateful intent for your own race also comes off a certain way. Overcompensating. You can talk about tragedies your race did without hating everyone who's part of that race.
