All those tweets are doing is speculating. The reason I mentioned a major news organization is that if a newspaper were to come out with an article backed by evidence calling the CDC's guidance manipulated by big business, it would be a very big deal. Some tweets (whose only credibility is a blue checkmark) that speculate and make soft accusations are not on that level at all.

Why would a major news organization speak out against something they profit from? Politics and business should not even be in the conversation right now, yet they are calling the shots.

I mean if the conspiracy is that deep, then I guess you're right. But that same logic applies to all conspiracy theories. The reason I'm so against conspiracy theories is that I used to be super into them and they really messed me up.

I don't think people realize how big of a deal it would be if big business manipulated - or essentially decided the new CDC guideless. People are just saying that like it's a given but it would legitimately one of the biggest news stories in American history.

The newest Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance shortening the isolation period for those with COVID-19 from 10 days to five days has led to a growing concern about its impact on essential workers such as nurses and airline staff.

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said the decision to change the guidelines was, in part, to "keep the critical functions of society open and operating."

"We started to see challenges with ... airline flights and other areas. We started first with doing the health care workers last week to make sure that we could make keep our hospitals functioning safely and open," Walensky told NPR on Tuesday.

The CDC says its decision is also based on the science showing that a majority of COVID-19 illnesses get passed around in the first few days of the infection. Other public health experts say that's true but there's still a chance that transmission to others could happen after the five-day benchmark

Nelson's position is at odds with some airlines leaders. The CDC's decision comes days after Delta Airline's CEO sent Walensky a letter advocating for a shorter isolation period.

In the letter, CEO Ed Bastian along with the airline's medical adviser and chief health officer asks Walensky to consider shortening the isolation period to five days for those who experience a breakthrough infection.

It doesn't get anymore blatant than this.

They have to also take into account the length of time people will actually be able to easily miss work. If I tell you that you have to miss 2 weeks of work, even if you aren't symptomatic, you will get a lot more people that hide their diagnosis.

That is concerning, but it's not new information is it? The article is from before this topic was made and is not claiming what you are claiming.

I don't think you realize how serious the claim you are making is. It is a conspiracy theory (a large airline told the CDC to lessen the quarantine recommendation for Covid and they complied) and is on the same level as claiming that Covid was created in a lab. Even Dr. Fauci was behind that for a bit and AFAIK he abandoned it because there is no evidence for it.

That article is dated three days ago. That's not old news. It's also a fact reported by multiple sources.

Nothing I said was wrong. I'm not sure why it's okay to take big business running the CDC as a given. And it wouldn't be much of a jump to say big business runs the entire government at that point. Like the Citizens United ruling wouldn't have mattered if this was the case.

I don't think you understand what I'm saying?

The post that was quoted says it all: "It doesn't get anymore blatant than this." The article never claimed that the CDC made their recommendation per the Delta CEO's request. It said that the Delta CEO sent a letter to the CDC asking for the new recommendation. That's it. The most the article does is imply that some public health officials disagree with the recommendation, but it doesn't discuss that any further. By claiming anything more than this you are spreading misinformation and conspiracy theories.

Also I meant new relative to when this topic was started.
