Every time I see a clip that shows how "horrible" it is, all I feel after watching it is "idk, this feels more generic than worst of the worst everyone keeps saying it is."

I mean, I'm not claiming it's good; I'm just saying, all the clips that show how horrible it is don't make it seem any worse than any run-of-the-mill animation out there.

It almost feels like hating it is just a meme.

The main issue is that a streaming platform for Japanese/Asian media decided a Western cartoon was what its audience wanted and deserved funding, lol.

But has there been any updates? Did it finally air?Last I heard the show was finished, but Crunchyroll just shoved it in a basement somewhere and refused to release it, lol

People paying into Crunchyroll had this idea that they owed it to them to put the money into something they cared about. That's silly of course, but I can't say I wouldn't appreciate a less glitchy app.

Yeah the hate for this is overdone by a massive mile. Content creators are cashing in the hate train, and a lot of people would've hated it no matter what. Doesn't sound like some top tier show, but it's hardly the worst show when a lot of shit releases every year lol. Also it gets compared a lot to Little Witch Academia, but LWA was like one of the best animes released that year. Honestly a lot of shows look terrible by comparison to it.

I think if it was just on release, fine, but why does a new dumbass review of it show up every few weeks or so even til now? I actually saw 2 of them, sadly, and I gotta say they run out of things to talk about real quick, nor were any of their points compelling outside of "it looks bad" or "it sounds bad" etc. You can make a long video nitpicking any show lol, even Little Witch Academia... though maybe that's not true lol. I kinda love that show and I wouldn't know where to start nitpicking other than that the 1st ep can be slight boring.

I thought they released back in October?

It's fully released and viewable, just probably not gonna be continued. I don't think it ended on a cliffhanger or anything though, just some unresolved shit that was probably set up for other things.

Probably ain't gonna happen. People don't tend to watch additional seasons of shows they watched in order to hate

That's basically how I feel. It feels like every reviewer just knows its the easy thing to pile on since people decided this is the show to hate right now, so why not earn the quick views? Like, I just feel a lot of the criticism that I seen in the clips are stuff I see even in the most beloved of shows as all shows have some strange dialogue and/or generic stuff at times. Again, not saying this is a great show... but it's just a strange show people have chosen to hate on as much as they have when I've seen actual clips of bottom-tier shows.

I see why people are frustrated from that perspective, but I feel people have a tendency to find every little thing to hate on something with if that something ticks them off in the slightest of ways possible. I see it with games, movies, tv shows all the time. Like, not that it would be considered good otherwise, but people really make those "OMG this show did the UNTHINKABLE" kinda headlines and they spend 10 minutes talking about some small dumb part of it to make it sound like it came from the depths of hell itself.

I'd like to speak out in the show's defense. The first three episodes have rough animation and transitions, and the plot progression was uneven. But when I gave it a second chance, I discovered it was something quite special. I'm not gay or trans, but the way the characters bond to each other and confront real problems hit me straight in the feels. I've never seen anything quite like it and it really cheered me up when I needed it, and I'm really sad that they probably won't give it a second season.

The problems the show does have feel like Crunchy torpedoing it show with incompetence and mismanagement.

Yeah, it's pretty over the top. I tend to just not watch things I'm interested in. Although I'd watch a comedy video joking about a bad show, I'm feeling some deep vitriol here.

Crunchyroll has produced dozens of anime, including popular ones like Shield Hero, but they make one western show and weebs literally have a years long temper tantrum.

it looked like a generic mediocre-to-bad show that youtubers were attempting to turn into a content mill for easy views by all reacting to the same 5 moments
