Its like Nintendo went from the N64 to the Wii. They are all for promoting old games from those generations but they almost never mention the GameCube. I can think of only two games that got a re-release. I am probably missing some but these are the only two I can think off of the top of my head.

-Wind Waker (Its a Zelda game of course they always would)
-Super Mario Sunshine as part of 3d all stars

GameCube had so many great games that Nintendo just refuses to port. If they ported Paper Mario: TTYD, Pokemon Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness, Pokmon Channel, Luigis Mansion, Mario Party 4, Kirby Airride, or a shit ton of other games I would buy the fuck out of it. :(

They're afraid you'll see how hollow those games seem now days. Everything they've done now is an update and half and they want you to still feel good about those games.

Or they just hate the GC

Gamecube was the red headed stepchild to Xbox the jock and the smart kid PS2.

PS2 and Xbox sold like crazy. Gamecube did not.

PS2 was one of the cheapest DVD players on the market at the time, which gave it a hell of an advantage.

Xbox sold like 1 million more than the Gamecube. The PS2 sold 100 million more than both. Combined.

A better question is why does Nintendo hate being even remotely current with their hardware abilities. While I can still have fun playing their games; the horrible online interface, subpar graphics, and inability to play games from the last couple generations keeps me from being on my Switch for long.

It may have started on the Dreamcast, but most people seem to remember it more fondly on the GameCube.

The question isn't why does Nintendo hate the Gamecube, it's why do YOU hate the Gamecube? Believe me, if they thought they could make some money off reselling old GCN games they would do it in a heartbeat. Only logical deduction is that they know it wouldn't be worth.

I forgot where I read this at (but with how arrogant some of the older japanese higher ups in companies like nintendo can act, I believe it), but supposedly when it comes to online console play a lot of employees at nintendo simply never bothered to look up how it all works in the modern day in general and actually knows the bare minimum about competitors like sony and microsoft's setups. Man I wish I can remember where I read all this at because it was a real eye-opener. Apparently a bunch of the younger guys over at nintendo want to give something like nintendo's online setup a massive facelift, but the older guys are all like "whateves".

There really is no excuse in why I took until 2021 for nintendo to have a ethernet port on their systems (or dock in this case) by default when friggin' sega had their dreamcast at least come with a 56K port in 199goddamn8, and microsoft with the ethernet port on the xbox since 2001. Sony wised up quick and started putting ethernet ports on the slim PS2 on up.

Guys like sakurai, who is shown owning all consoles and enjoys games from all over the place is apparently a rarity at nintendo. I know miyamoto apparently doesn't game on anything else.

SA1 and 2 came out on Dreamcast first and both got enhanced ports on the GameCube.
