Early gamefaqs was full of hostility. nowadays you can talk about having kids, being in a relationship, or having a job without trolls accusing you of being a fake for attention. people nowadays are more likely to help you then early gamefaqs where everyone wants you to read the FAQs or use Google.

Eh, he's right and wrong. There is more decency, but also the bad is much worse than it used to be. Just straight up no holds barred bigotry, without even the excuse of ignorance.

Gamefaqs was so much worse when everyone was angsty teens and the era was being edgy is cool.

Mostly accurate. Some guy wanted me to google something the other day though, also in another topic, TC asked for people's opinions on something and a idiot poster essentially told him to ignore everyone's opinions and form his own by searching for and watching youtube vids.

every time i posted anything on the xbox boards, i immediately got dudes calling me a troll, demanding to know my gamertag, digging through my post history to see if i was from the playstation boards, it was legit scary how paranoid and hostile people can get over stupid shit here

Some of the game boards are absolute trash for sure, but you used to be able to say tons of bigoted shit here and not get modded. It's better now in that respect.

I know CE seems hostile at times but the console and game boards back in the day were fucking atrocious. It was like the wild west of shit ass trolls. They're still bad, but they were a lot worse.

I've been on-and-off for 20 years and nothing seems any different to me...

It's funny because CE used to be horrible and it's calmed down but the game boards suck ass even though they weren't so bad before

I made a topic here about getting a PS5 recently and no one doubted it
