No, he's a lot better.

It's sad to say that, but the team is markedly better off than it was under Al, even if it still can't keep it's own house in order, at least under Mark they've managed to field a competitive team despite all of it.

Since losing the 2002 Super Bowl, this team was .500 twice (and one of those years was 6-0 against their awful division yet still missed the playoffs), and otherwise averaged ~4 wins a season.

They've been at least competitive in 4 of the last 5 years, even if they only made the playoffs once. Their biggest problem is they keep collapsing at the end of the season.

They were 6-6 in 2017, but ended 6-10.
6-3 last year, ended 8-8.
6-4 two years ago, ended 7-9.

This is still a marked improvement over what they were getting with Al Davis, it's just all the little issues just keep bringing this team down year after year.

The team has been better. I'm not sure the management of the franchise overall has been much better though!

Meyer's dirty laundry was well known before they hired him, and Gruden at least had some NFL success at some point, so it's Urban

Urban was never going to work out and its a waste of an important year for a young QB. Gruden makes sense to bring in (not his contract) for these Raiders

I mean they basically only need him for three games if they get the 1 seed, heck maybe only two depending on who they get in the divisional round, and they wouldn't even need to give him a full workload considering how good Freeman has turned out to be

That was just an irrelevant team trying desperately to be relevant.

I don't think the Browns will cut bait with Baker unless they can get a clearly better option, like Russ or Rodgers (and I doubt either of them wants to go there). More likely, they pick up Baker's fifth year option and draft or sign another QB to compete with him.

Yeah, they give him the 5th year to prove it, like what the Ravens did with Flacco a while back. I don't see any reason for them to cut bait with the best QB the Browns have had since the reinstatement. (Have they already forgotten about the jersey?)

Who needs Baker when you can sign Cam Newton?

Baker was playing hurt most of the season and the stats without OBJ on the field have shown him to be a really good quarterback. I don't think you cut bait with him at least for next season.

It's funny because that team looked to be showing some genuine improvement for a few weeks in the early to mid part of the season

But then, even if they won a couple games, it all faded away like a dream.

Rodgers has been a documented asshole since 2018, the year he:
1. Demanded he have say in offensive personnel decisions after the Packers let his buddy Jordy Nelson go
2. Broke up with Olivia "to focus on football" (was rather controlling) only to start dating Danica a few months later
3. Started changing playcalls to make McCarthy look like the asshole, thus dividing the team in two
4. Once McCarthy was terminated for losing control of the team, Rodgers demanded he had some say in the hire of the new coach - in other words, his boss's boss's boss. Like what.

Then in 2019 he cheated on Danica with Shailene (and later married her secretly). And in 2021, he lied about his vaccination status (having gotten a "treatment" that only protected him for 24 hours, if that) and held the Packers hostage, enjoying the associated media circus. At least he was a good Jeopardy host even if he's a dick about it.

I am extremely happy that he's shown up to play his heart out consistently considering the circumstance but I would think there's an ulterior selfish motive, since I still don't trust him. He acts like he IS the entire team and therefore he should have control of everything. That's not MVP behavior. MVPs are team players. Rodgers is not. He has become distorted and his Palace needs to crumble.

Jonathan Taylor gets my vote.

They're at home, sure, but what have we seen that suggests this Ravens team is 2.5 points better than the Steelers?

I kinda suspect the majority of the actual picks, both casual and expert, will be on Pittsburgh.

As a fellow Packers fan, I agree completely with Tear. You're also forgetting the part where he tried to talk potential free agents out of resigning with the Packers because he was mad and wanted to leave. That alone has made me hate him more than anything else he's done.

Rodgers being an egotistical douchebag really isn't anything new, it's just what he did with Covid seems to be the straw that broke the camel's back.

With the attitude you mention, I'm even more shocked at how amazing a year he's had. I'm very happy he's playing so well at the same time I think he's a total douchebag. Gotta wonder how Gutekunst will handle his prima donna ego trip after the season. I also wonder how much value Rodgers has lost over the past year.

Worth noting that I consider the male equivalent of the term "Karen" to be "Aaron" solely because of Rodgers' "But it's all about me!" attitude.

I really don't know what I'd rather have. Not sure if Loverboy is ready. We'll see how he does against the Lions. Rodgers wants to play, and I expect LaFleur to let him for a quarter or two just so he's not rusty when we come back from the bye. For the future, a lot depends who we can keep around... and if we can get a good QB from the draft if it becomes apparent that Love is not the answer.
