This was the only mainline game I hadn't played until now.

It's...pretty good. I'm enjoying it for the most part, but already see why so many people didn't. It feels like the combat is going to be a little difficult solely from fighting against the mechanics.

The sky exploration is my favorite part, even if there isn't much there. It's like Wind Waker, but with flying

I'm playing with the stick controls and not the motion controls. The sword moves around fine, but I usually need to tap in a direction a couple of times for it to actually do an attack. So attacking is usually me pressing right on the stick until the thing dies.

It is pretty wild that SS and BotW had the same lead director, though. It's like night and day

I loved the Wii version and beat it like 9 years ago I wanna say?

I think the Wii version is more accurate due to IR controls.. but motion controls work for the most part on switch. They do have a lot of nice QoL changes as well.

My biggest gripe are some of the mandatory fetch quests in between dungeons. Some are really long and make the triforce quest in Windwaker on GameCube look like childs play. This game is just really padded with them and revisiting areas, and they can be fairly long (like an hour to beat). Especially towards the end.

But this game does have great characters, story, dungeons/puzzles and boss fights for a 3d Zelda game though.
