Reminds me of movies like Juno and American Beauty where these films were highly lauded as the best films of its generation, and now you watch them and just cringe. Avengers was a really hilarious movie with great action set pieces that gave each character about almost equal screen time. I think the problem was the plot is basic as fuck and almost every character had to do some snarky one liner or joke that it just got annoying.
