A lot of it would go to investments and planning for retirement so it would last longer than a decade.

It's not enough to quit my job, so that extra million will last a very long time.

It's probably enough that you could afford to cut back on hours big-time, though.

I've heard enough stories around this to just put the vast majority of it in the bank and investments. Plus it helps that a million isn't THAT huge nowadays; us millennials will need like 2 or 3 times that to retire.

Id spend like 600,000 on 3 houses/flats in the city and rent them out. I heard they go around 800 a month. So I'd live comfortably on 2400 a month doing next to fuck all.

250,000 for my own bigger house in the country and still have 150,000 to fuck around with.

Investments are a no brainer but I'd likely buy a house before anything else.

Maybe like work a hobby job or have a hobby business to keep some money flow going and live off it and float the rest?

Id pay off my mortgage, then invest the rest.

So itll mostly last longer than a decade, as Im at least 20 years away from retirement.

I'd attempt to live off investments for as long as I can. I don't need much.
