Sure, because they are people, their lives have meaning.

Its also because I see people forgetting some of the things we learned from the world wars regarding stability and balance of power and if this happens it represents yet another failure in those systems that were designed to keep peace.

Why should this be Americas problem

Bill Clinton entered into a deal that offered Ukraine US (and UK) protection in exchange for their nuclear disarmament.

Yeah and since the US word is worth fuck all, they should have kept their nukes. If they did they'd still have Crimea.

While Ukraine is former USSR territory, there are financial reasons they are trying to go after it instead of going after the other former USSR countries (they wouldn't be going after Ukraine if it were worthless):

Ukraine exports mainly steel, coal, fuel and petroleum products, chemicals, machinery and transport equipment and grains like barley, corn and wheat. More than 60% of the exports goes to other former Soviet Republics countries with Russia, Kazkhstan and Belarus being the most important. Others include Turkey and China.

Also someone was telling me Russia would gain several very important ports or something of that nature that they very much want by taking Ukraine.

This is what a lot of people are afraid of.
A financial reason (and it's a HUGE financial reason) China wants Taiwan is because Taiwan is the # 1 producer of the more important computer chips on the planet. If China takes Taiwan, it's a huge financial gain for China but the chip shortage is going to get dangerously worse for the rest of the world.

Even worse scenario is if North Korea sees China take Taiwan and Russia take Ukraine, North Korea (which is in VERY serious need of financial gains) will go after South Korea. South Korea is the # 2 biggest producer of computer chips in the world (Samsung is one of the companies that produces very important chips there). If North Korea decides to do this, their army would easily destroy the South Korean army (honestly, North Korea has enough impressive weaponry in comparison to South Korea to the point where they arguably don't even have to send land troops to win). Taiwan and South Korea have a near monopoly on production of the most important computer chips in the world. If China and North Korea takes them, the entire rest of the world are screwed for many, many, MANY reasons.

Of course, all of this is just worst case scenario.
Most likely nothing will happen and no one will start any wars and everything will eventually go back to normal.

Honestly we need to straight up have the federal goverment mandate Apple and Co to begin Investing most their profits into building American chip factories.

Lol wut. I mean NK has a great army, but SK literally has enough tech and allies to fight without having to deal with a single person. NK's invasion hasn't been truly viable since ages ago, and it's not like SK ever stopped their military service. Thinking that chain of events will happen is pretty out of touch and out the ass tbh.
