Moving from one apartment to another is the equivilant of telling a homeless person to buy a house?

Pretty sure you don't. People move all the time for all kinds of reasons. Especially renters. One of the biggest perks of being a renter is the ease of moving somewhere else if you have to or want to.

I never said there are no other factors that go into moving. I said if tc is unhappy that his landlord keeps increasing the rent he should move.

Do I have to acknowledge everything that goes into moving just to say that? Seems like a pretty dumb and cumbersome way to conversate

Is your landlord allowed to increase your rent like that? Check your local tenant laws - theres usually a cap on how much a landlord can bump your rent.

No he didn't. Try moving while owning a house vs. when renting. Moving while renting, yeah, its a bit of a hassle. Selling a house, moving and buying a new house is much, much more complicated and expensive than moving houses while renting. This should be painfully obvious to anyone that has bought / sold / rented.

Yep. Heck, there's "technically" some where I live. It can't exceed a 10 or 15% increase per year. They can do it every year though and it's only slightly thrown off because I think they have to wait a few months after you move in before they can raise it. And if you aren't on a month by month type basis, they can only do it like once every 6 months.

We never ask our Land Lord for anything and always immediately pay rent. We are intensely kind to him to.

So miracle he still only charges us $700 a month.

The place beside us has less rooms and is half the size and he charges them $1,200

I lived in Seattle for 7 years. And rent increases kept me moving. Always to worse and worse places. Literal shootings outside my window and still paying $800 a month with multiple roommates while making $20,000 a year. Eventually that place was going to be $1200 a month for me unless I moved. The last place I lived was a guys closet. Seriously. I lived in a literal walk-in closet. Just a futon on the floor of the closet (but able to use the common areas). I was paying $800 a month to do that. After I moved to Japan I was paying $450 a month for a 2 bedroom and dining/kitchen. Total, no roommates.

Yeah just move. To another country.
