34 y/o Melissa and 40 y/o Bobby Jo Green from Arizona were arrested on charges of child neglect after they left their 11 y/o son HOME ALONE to fend for himself for 2 WEEKS while they went party hardying out of the state!!.

Deputies performed a welfare check on the home in Elfirda and found their son without any adult supervision

The boy said there was "frozen food available to him" and that he had not attended school for 2 weeks

It happened on Dec 12 when a concerned citizen called 5-0 to say an 11 y/o was possibly home alone for an unknown length of time

Apparently the mother went out of state before thanksgiving and the father followed shortly after leaving the child home alone the entire time while they went to enjoy the holidays without their son

The boy is now in Child Protective Services just when the parents arrived back on Dec 28 who were then promptly arrested and are on 100,000 bond

I was around 10 or 11 when my parents felt comfortable leaving me home alone for a couple hours while they were at work or whatever, but never for a whole day, let alone two weeks.

I think 10. Was never for more than a day or two though. Two weeks wouldve been a dream.

My father is a workaholic, and my mother was often out working or going to college, so my sisters and I were often alone, save for a period of a few years where my mom had a severe case of agoraphobia and barely left the house.

We lived in a small town, so I didn't have a problem going to places by myself before I was 10, even when it was dark, but in retrospect, it probably wasn't very safe, especially since I have sight and hearing problems.

At that age my older sister was babysitting her 3 younger siblings while my parents were at work.

If you actually raise your kids instead of sitting them in front of screens all the time, they won't be pathetic and useless. #old person

Ya know this guy definitely was an attentive parent who made sure his child didn't sit in front of a TV all the time

They should have ensured he attended school in the meantime, because consonnit how can they be so irresponsible? Back in my days, my mother was working overtime for our new house, hence she was out for 3 days a week, however she checked on me periodically when I stayed at home. The parents partying away from him only shows... their priority I am afraid.

I don't remember. I don't think I was ever truly alone due to a large family.

For an overnight? I doubt until I was about 18, and I was more or less out of the house by then.

I'm the youngest of 3 so I was never home alone before 19.
