That was a weird flex that they tried to push so hard. I think they were trying to mix in some of the stuff from the Ultimate Spider-Man (There was an arc where Peter finds old lab work. Ultimate Spider-man is probably the best way it has been done but even then it's meh. I'm surprised they've never done any twists with Uncle Ben thinking about it. Peter Parker being bit should feel like a random chance that could happen to anyone. When you start involving conspiracies with his parents then it leads to him being a superhero an inevitability instead of a coincidence.
