I think I saw this a while ago, or something eerily similar.

But I don't remember the smirking loser in the picture.

That cop is an idiot. The guy taking the video is wrong too though lol. If an officer believes he has reasonable suspicion or probable cause, and you are the one being stopped. You have to identify yourself. I cant remember if Terry v Ohio fully established that one. I think there was another court case after that, that established it. Its late and I cant remember right now

There could be some word penal code in their city, but supreme decision will overrule.

And technically, under the community caretaking doctrine, he can enter the house if the officer questions the validity of the ownership.

I was reading through the replies in that thread and one person said they're a college student and kept using the word "antidote" when they mean to use "anecdote". Got a good chuckle.

Ohio has a stop and identify law.

You have to be under suspicion of a crime even in states where police can lawfully stop people and request ID. FYI:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stop_and_identify_statutes

Of course, I'm not sure I'd trust your knowledge of anything related to Ohio considering that you incorrectly predicted Cleveland Indians pitcher Cliff Lee's ERA during the 2008 MLB season, staked an account bet on said prediction, and failed to follow through with your account bet.

I've witnessed two people nearly get arrested in separate incidents because they called 911 and refused to identify themselves when the cops responded.

Yes yes we get it cops constitute the largest gang in America and make up their own rules and do whatever the fuck they want to us and justify it with whatever word salad they decide to pull out of their asses.

Its not a flex, cops tend to be incredibly biased toward people depending on how they look because that is what was drilled into their head as part of their training. Youre going to get treated better by cops generally speaking if youre wearing a suit as opposed to, say, a tank top and gym shorts.

The cop might not be right and the Black man might be right, but wouldn't just showing ID and proof of who you are dispel any suspicion to the cop's claim and make you the winner?

I guess his ego got the better of him. Anxiety in a stressful situation could be to blame, or not.

Worked out in the end though, considering the cops got off his sack.

Yes it would. The first half dozen or so times it happens.

But after the 10th or 12th time in a 2-3 month period, it gets annoying.

Imagine you get a new job, and every other day someone asks for your ID because they don't recognize you and assume you're not supposed to be there. It's ok for about a week or so. Eventually, you'll get to the point of "Seriously? I've been here for a month, you still don't know who I am?"

It's basically that, but you may get shot as a result. It's clich, but there are way too many cops that see a black man driving a nice car, not wearing a suit, and assume that car is either stolen or bought with money gained through nefarious means.

Because of instead of sitting there smirking. He couldve explained what I did quoting the exact Supreme Court cases. Then continue doing his job. Cuz now you have somebody shouting penal codes and hes still wrong. So now, people on Reddit and here are frothing at the mouth over incorrect information

Are you kidding me? He's not allowed to do anything like that unless a crime has been committed. He's clearly been racially profiled.

I wouldn't share something like that. It would undermine the point about authority figures overstepping their bounds and trying to bully the population to feel powerful.
