Like clip art stick figures/blob people.

Whenever you look up some historical event or concept on YouTube tons of these pop up.

Does anyone else find this kind of offputting? It makes me not want to watch the video.

I imagine it's to provide cheap/easy visuals for their video but I would actually prefer black and white historical photos/videos over that stuff.

This one actually has some actual photos but that's all the video really needs, not Fortnite stick figures fighting each other.

History Matters is great. I miss when he was 10 Minute History though.

Old Flash animators desperate for work, I guess...

Maybe they wanna stand out or there just isn't any footage of the things they talk about

Definitely the case with videos covering old events lol

Maybe someone thinks bigger chunks of garish colors is better for the thumbnail.

Yeah, I can see that being a legit reason. I still find this "history video art style" really unappealing though.

Just listen to it then or find something else. I barely watch most of it, I just listen
