I beat Raiden Shogun. I know there's a bunch of grinding to do, but it seems that as far as Main Story Quests go, I'm caught up.

Dude, my alt account was AR45 and I hadn't even been through Liyue yet. You level so freaking quick now compared to at launch if you're not just gunning the archon quests. Surely you've got plenty of world exploration left and a billion character quests and hangouts remaining. How long ago did you start playing?

And yes, the PMA has physical resistance. It's been jokingly referred to as the physical hypostasis by many.

I'm currently AR36. I'm not sure when I started playing, but the first trophy I got was on 12/19.

I'm curious about the character quests, but I'm not sure I want to constantly complete dailies to get them.

Dailies only take like 10-15 minutes and you get more keys than you know what to do with. So it's not too bad, but also (and I cannot stress this enough) you're under no obligation to interact with the daily gacha grind if you don't want to, your account is keeping up with difficulty increases, you have no interest in new characters, etc.

As far as the character stories go they're kind of hit-or-miss like a lot of the writing in this game is. The world and lore is cool but there's a lot of bland or one note moment to moment writing that really shows in the characters. I would check out any for characters you have interest in but honestly I've been playing 6 months and still haven't gone through them all. Of the ones I've done, I'd recommend:

- Zhongli (he has two): fleshes him out, lots of lore, other cool things
- Childe: one of my favorite characters because of how strange his personality is which is on full display here
- Raiden and Kokomi: these two form a nice little epilogue to the Inazuma plotline. I don't really care too much for Kokomi's but it's worth noting they will probably be required for future content
- Itto: he's just an incredible type of guy

But okay, don't sweat anything I was saying earlier. You just have such a radically different playstyle from me that it feels really weird to hear.

Actually, hearing that someone can blaze through the story in a month and only get to AR36 is helpful info if I ever do follow through on those beginners guides I keep thinking I'll do.

I did the occasional grind, turning on a podcast while I fight a boss repeatedly to get advancement items. I have a ton of resin replenishment items, and I probably only used a handful throughout my whole playthrough. I'd basically play story quests until enemies started feeling spongey, take a break to focus on leveling my characters/weapons, and jump back in.

Also, I'm a little confused - is Jean supposed to be rare? Because I got her ridiculously early, to the point where I thought she was just part of the tutorial about how characters have different rarities.

Youre not guaranteed to get a five star at the start, so yeah shes a bit rare. I dont have her, nor did I have any five-stars until I had somewhere near 90 wishes spent (I didnt keep track but youre guaranteed one after 90)

...So the fact that I got a five-star character within the first few hours of playtime might explain why I had an easier time than average.

traveling to the Serenitea Pot can be blocked by active quests? The way NPC involvement in quests can block progression in others is truly stupid but I dont even understand what the justification this time is.

It was after I started Ventis Story Quest. Nothing in that quest had anything to do with the Serenitea Pot so ????

I've had it happen several different times, and it never made any sense.

You get some really weird interference sometimes if you don't clear your quest log. I wish there were a way to collect a quest and mark it as dormant. You have to take the quest, lest you forget it exists, but as soon as you do, it wants you to do the quest...right up until it conflicts with something else. I had 3 or 4 conflicts just trying to do the Liyue main quest on my alt because I had done literally zero other quests in Liyue beyond talking to the questgiver in the first place.

The Serenitea Pot thing, though, I've got no clue. I haven't experienced it since I added a teleporter, so I don't know if it's limited to just using the teapot item, but it's one of the more bizarre quirks in the game.

You want to hear weird Ive had Kokomis quest restart itself several times. I havent done it at all, but Ive seen the beginning scene with Gorou about 4 times now just from commissions in the area. I dont know what is causing it really lol

Oh hey its the start of the 10 Intertwined Fates login thing. Nice. Also Ill probably grab Yanfei as my free 4* for the upcoming celebration since shes the only one I dont have. Not sure Ill use her, but it will just be nice to have a new character. Also somewhat considering pulling for Zhongli though just because of how good he isman its tough being free sometimes

I have something similar from one of the quests from Lan in Liyue. If I accept it, and then I get Where is the Unseen Razor?, the quest resets afterwards.

Cryo Zhongli? Also seems we are getting the censored Chinese outfits a couple characters got (Jean, Mona, Rosaria and Amber) because why not I guess. I dont like the new outfits so I wont be using them.

Oh and whether you use them or not Mihoyo will be using the new designs for them in all appearances they have from now on :| Thanks irrational Chinese censorship

This smelting challenge is stupid.

It reminds me of DQ11 crafting, but its a lot simpler and you have infinite retries without consuming anything

You can find characters in the world now and talk to them during Lantern Rite. Ive seen people mention finding Xinyan & Beidou, Baizhu & Qiqi, Shenhe and many others in various locations. They actually listened to feedback to a degree :D

Meme build setup with Zhongli rocking Blizzard Stayer set with Cryo cup, I believe. And pairing him with the Shenhe/Chongyun combo.

I'm not sure how many pulls I've done total. However, I did find the pulls I did for the very first Novice wish. The very first time I made a wish, I got:

Ningguang
Beidou
Noelle
Jean

...I'm assuming getting four characters in one pull, let alone the very first one of the entire game, is extremely abnormal.

HDT's response is a slight overreaction, but you should certainly consider adapting. Don't change your team until you have Ganyu leveled and you decide she's worth using. Also remember that there are two main ways to use Ganyu and they use very different teams.

But if you've been using Xiangling already, then yeah, go for it.

So anyone else feel this event went harder on the Beidou/Ningguang ship?

Someone came into the stream for Beidou's VA to ask how she felt about the ship being canon. I had no idea what they were talking about, but reasoned there must have been something in the rest of the event.

Ascended my Yoimiya for the final time. Other than her Normals being weird sometimes because of targeting shes been pretty damn amazing. She helped make the fight against Beisht for the event a lot faster paired with Fischl. Cleared out the shop! I grabbed Yanfei since I didnt have her and got her to lv70. I did 10 summons on Zhonglis banner kinda hoping for an early 5*, but got a C6 Beidou and that was it. Hes an awesome character, but with Yae so close I cant really risk trying to win 2 50:50s so hell have to wait again.

...is Beisht in the event, or did you just have to do the jade chamber quest first to unlock the lantern rite?

Its the very last event that opens up in Lantern Rite. Until today all you could do was the shadow puzzle, firework smelting and treasure/sailing thing for Lantern Rite. You have to complete all the Lantern Rite story bits to unlock it, but the Beisht event itself isnt part of the story or anything at all. It feels pretty random honestly like if they made you fight Childe or Azhdaha as one of the events for no reason whatsoever. You have to do the fight if you want to unlock the free 4* and Ningguang skin.

Sorry, I didnt even realize it was a spoiler. Probably sounds stupid, but I was so behind on stuff and busy with stuff outside the game it completely slipped my mind there was even a quest required before you could participate in Lantern Rite this year. Im really sorry

Its the same boss from the Jade Chamber quest, if Im not mistaken. They just through it into the event, not really sure why.

The problem is Im a scatterbrained dunce who thought the quest was somehow one of those purple key character quests.

2.5 live stream coming Friday. Looks like Yae banner is up next and then a Raiden rerun? Feels like shes getting a rerun faster than others did. Anyways Id just expect Yae and Inazuma reruns for 2.5 and possibly 2.6 as well. Leak claims the 4*s on Yae are Fischl, Diona and Thoma which would be disappointing
