One of the chief strategies that rich people have is the ability to gum up the legal process for so long that they essentially remain untouchable. They can hire the best lawyers and abuse legal proceedings in such a way that it becomes financially unfeasible to prosecute them. A truly objective legal system shouldn't favor that kind of process. It's the same reason why rich people never pay taxes, because they can afford the guys who know how to create tax havens. No, I think it's a legitimate point that needs to be added, especially since minorities tend to be the poorest in society. So they have it doubly bad - it's inherently biased against them already, but then they also don't have the money to hire the lawyers skilled enough to fight for them. A bail in its nature is supposed to represent the idea that you are severely hampering your finances to get out early, but if the cost is less than 1% of your daily income then it isn't really anything to care about.
