It's an insidious, gradual death, a slow torture that destroys you a little piece at a time until there's nothing left of your memories, of who you are or were, to the point where you can't even recognise your own son and you panic at seeing a "stranger" by your bed. He's in his 70s now and it hasn't happened yet I do think about it sometimes. But actually, I suspect I won't live long enough to get it. I am in poor physical health.
