Typically it's only if you're not taking their advice, not being a cooperative patient, refusing to own up to things etc etc.

If they decide you aren't doing your part to try and improve they will absolutely tell you they're done with you.

Seems kind of awful to send away someone who goes to you for help and pays you for it just because they're struggling

think about it. if you go to a personal trainer and dietician, and you don't take their advice, they will want to drop you to get someone in that they can actually help.

being a "poor old me" sadboy and blaming depression for not putting in effort is not helpful. And yet we have this societal love-in nowadays for people like this, saying we need to "understand" and "help". But there's no accountability, which is a major part of getting better.

A psychiatrist more than any other profession doesnt up and leave their patients without good notice or good reason. Cmon bro, this is CE, are you really this naive? TC is leaving out information that paints a clearer picture.

I know it's their right but it feels fucked up to me. You confided in them and showed them your vulnerable side, but they suddenly cut you off without any explanation. It just feels wrong.

Shielding people from accountability to protect their feelings is even worse.

I had a counselor tell me once that he was legitimately surprised that I hadn't punched my own clock, but I've never had a mental health professional tell me they refused to see me. That sucks. Glad they referred you to someone else, though.

We do though, cmon, we do. Ill leave you guys to do the whole thing where we act like TC was literally a perfect model patient and the psychiatrist is the devil, but we all know the reality here.

A lot of Mental health professionals are complete bums and have no business practicing any type of medical attention. That being said, some patients are also crap and will gaslight and lie even in therapy and they think it's not obvious but it's quite clear to anyone who's paying attention. If a therapist/psych doesn't think they are getting a message across or helping they will absolutely refer you to seek concil somewhere else
