Yeah, so I read the issue now and that's exactly what happened to me. I started my duel during season 1, and it ended after season 2 started, so I mistakenly received the rewards I would have gotten from Gold V to Plat 3.

So the 800 gems I got weren't extra, and I'll now receive no rewards from climbing, until I get to Plat 3.

No I think you still do get the 100gem reward each time you climb a rank

Damn the scarcity of gems really go up after the initial batch huh

Yea, if an extra deck card hasn't been properly summoned, then you can't revive it.

I don't think so, sadly. You can see their deck, but not their hand.

Can confirm I got nothing when I went up a rank.

They just released a statement though. Looks like they'll be "improving" the ranked rewards, and also giving everyone the rewards from Silver to Gold to all the people who went from Plat to Gold.

It almost seems like this game has "exposed" to the public how absurd the game is right now, I see all sorts of memes and vids of "Going from duel links to MD be like" and such. I just think it's funny.

Yea I've been hoarding my gems now with how scarce they've gotten

I mean it's brought a bunch of casuals/old heads who quit a while back back to see how thing are so yea that was always gonna happen

really tho they need to implement some changes quick if they want to retain some of the oldschool crowd that's trying it out. different ladder, casual mode, better solo content, etc.

I mean those memes have been going around forever. And the same thing happened when Duel Links came out. I don't think it's a big deal.

Well I mean... The meta is bad. Yugioh is a bad card game and always has been. Still play it anyway though lol.

I've adjusted to it at this point, and am mostly enjoying it.

Yea,my yugioh luck today has been tough. How did I only see one DD Crow last season yet two today?

I think the only super unfair thing is like rhongo. Maybe starving venom too.

So a video I happened across today was explaining some datamines that were found in the game, mainly different modes which would restrict the types of cards you could use called "cups." So liek a fusion cup would be only fusion monsters, synchro cups only synchros etc. There was also a "Beginner's classic" mode which touted vintage cards. Also some sort of pauper format. And an in-game tournament builder. If all this comes to pass I think it would go a long way towards helping keep the more casual people like most of us here I think.

For now I finished everything in solo mode and have about 6700 gems lying around with no particular interest in using them, so I guess I'll just log in daily when I remember and wait for new content, or a user tournament or something.

Alright I'm back into Plat. I think I'll try to make the push to Plat 1 this season.

Okay, another "Why couldn't I do this" question. I had evenly matched in my hand and I went 2nd, so I had a battle phase. I thought I could just enter/exit the battle phase on my turn to be able to proc evenly matched from my hand and get rid of almost all my opponent's cards, but it would not let me. Any ideas why? There was nothing on the field preventing trap activation or anything.

Did you have cards on the field?

I had 0 cards on the field, my opponent went through is plays on his first turn so I just went stright from main 1, to battle, to main 2 to try and get rid of them (cause I know about having to have no cards on the field to use from teh hand) and the prompt just never came up.

Yeah that's really weird, I've had similar issues with activating Imperm from hand.

Did you have your interaction on Off?

I checked that too funnily enough cause I did switch it to off "after" my turn was over, but I definitely had it on auto at the time I tried to play evenly matched.

Which brings another questino, what even is the difference between auto and on?

Haven't tested it much on Master, so am going off of a similar system in YGOPRO (more of a simulator than Master Duel):

Auto prompts a response when it feels appropriate: responding to an effect to continue a chain or against an attack or when something is summoned or something like that.

On prompts a response anytime it is possible- end of a phase, out of the blue during a turn if possible, etc.

Could be that Auto doesn't catch evenly's timing, or could be a bug-would have to test.

oh okay, cause duel links I think just has on and off and it would have prompts like "Your opponent is about to enter the battle phase" and such which is what I want so I guess I will go with on going forward

Eh, there is an argument to using the other ones- having all the prompts over and over can be annoy and as for off- if you don't wanna burn your responses to an opp's long combo, it saves time...and can also hide your own response flashing until you turn it on at the perfect time to catch them off guard.

Yeah I mean I'd switch it to off if I knew I didn't have an effect I would want to use, I just meant generally

You can temporarily set it to on/off by holding left/right mouse, which can be pretty useful if you know there's a specific time you're going to want to use something.

I built a real deck and got to Silver easily despite hard bricking twice in ways I didn't realize were really possible oops

I beat some actually constructed decks (Toons, Ojamas, Eldlich) to get there. Eldich just tried cycling its boss monster a lot which I was mostly able to shut down (It seems super frustrating to play against if you can't shut it down quickly, though), and Toons/Ojama are probably about on par with Exodia as far as quality goes, but they weren't clearly somebody trying to build on a starter deck at least.

Eldlichs power comes more from it being able to run annoying traps like Skill Drain, Imperial Order and even stuff like Gozen Match/Rivalry of Warlords

Oh man, these two are a bit of a throwback. I mean, Skill Drain/Imperial Order are too but those are more common/well known. I actually ran Rivalry of Warlords casually back in the day

Got to Plat 1 exclusively with IDS. Now I can chill here for the month and learn this other deck.

Almost lost to a deck-out deck due to a poor use of Maxx C , but his card destruction left me with one card left to draw, the poor man. Ez OTK.

Currently building that myself since it is my IRL deck and I want another deck to play with.

It's definitely the exact kind of deck that I would play back when I played IRL. Pretty good without being overpowered, not the most expensive, not the most hated.

And it did top recently...with DPE, but still.
