Riding it in May. 100 mile ride the first day, and 82 the second. I bought a hybrid bike a few years ago and love riding it casually. But, have been biking a lot with my girlfriend and we ended up signing to ride the MS150 Together.

Have done a longer 20 mile then 30 mile ride the last few weeks. Going for 40 on Tuesday. How do I make my ass hurt less?

Maybe hybrid is not the way to go?

What tyres are you using also. Stiff tyres - less tired legs. Soft tires - less tired ass.

Also do you carry a repair kit and do you know how to use it? You should if you're doing these sorts of distances.

I feel like a hybrid would be ok for that distance? I was told that people ride the MS150 on all sorts of bikes. Dont think Im quite ready to buy a road bike anyways.

But I just bought a repair kit and spare tubes. Popped my first tire on my last long ride at mile 16 out of 30, and had nothing with me. Luckily my girlfriend had some spare tubes, but they didnt fit exactly(too thin, they were for her road bike). So I got some spare tubes and a repair kit for myself just in case.

My tires are 700x 38c though. My legs felt fine for the most part, but I was also not wearing bike shorts with padding. Bought a pair to try out this weekend. Were doing a group ride for 40 miles Saturday so well see how it goes I guess.
