I worked 60 hours last week and it didnt pay off like I expected. The pay period ended on Saturday the 15th, but since the job pays every Friday I only get OT for up till the 14th. So basically it went down like this- Worked 10th-15th 60 hours Pay period- 10th-15th Official Pay- 10th-14th Overtime- 14th at 48 hour mark (8 hours) Paid early no OT-15th shift Tax- Still included 15th shift. Because the pay period ended on Friday the 14th, but still pays through Saturday the 15th you dont get OT for working Saturday. So theres like no point in working Saturday shifts unless youre short on hours --- "Everyone, follow me to the shelter. We've got enough food for 14 days. Payroll people sometimes make mistakes. Bring it up with them and ask them to clarify. My old job was doing weird payroll shenanigans, but i learned i could game the system. We had a weird schedule of 45 hours in week 1 and 35 hours in week 2, which averages to 80. If you ever wanted a sick day, it was important to take it in the 2nd week so that any OT you got in week 1 was still paid out at OT rate. Doesn't that just give you a headstart on OT for the next pay period without having to work another Saturday? You'll get more overtime money then. They clarified it with me already thats why I think its shady. They did say the Saturday shift could go toward OT this week since its a weekly paid job. Makes some sense since payroll stops on Saturdays, but pay day is on Fridays. --- "Everyone, follow me to the shelter. We've got enough food for 14 days.
