Some abilities and such were similar from the Warcraft 3's DOTA, but that's as far as similarities go. DOTA 2 was more notorious for ripping off and Blizzard already lost that battle. They literally stole the community website responsible for making Dota what it was, as well as stole multiple characters submitted by the community for Dota, particularly Teemo and Rammus.
