37 y/o Kristin M. Kingrey, a lesbian member of the West Virginia Air National Guard is suing the Military claiming she was passed over 2 promotions after a male superior made sexist and homophobic comments including asking a woman to coach her on how to look more FEMININE because she looked too much like a MAN!!

The tall, short haired Kristin doesn't wear jewelry or makeup and joined the Guard in 2007 and was then hired for a civilian human resources position while still deployed in Qatar in 2019

When she returned, Vice Wing Commander Michael Cadle asked a female lt to counsel and encourage her to grow her hair out and use make up so she looks more like a woman

When she refused, her application which was approved before and got the job was then withdrawn and another application went nowhere.

She got harrased as well from male colleagues who spread rumours she was transitioning from female to male and retaliate against them for filing a formal complaint of which she is not transitioning

The WV national guard said it hired an outside firm that determined no discrimination or harassment took place

Her lawsuit is now naming Christine Wormuth, the secretary of the Army and Frank Kendall the secretary of the Air Force and is asking the guard to appoint her the position he initially was offered along with back pay and compensatory damages

The 19 page details a number of discriminatory acts that was filed to the EEOC

She got so many complaints on her hair being "too short" and even had to wear a women's honour guard jacket in front of others to confirm none of the women's sizes fit.

She believes the guard remains entrenched in anti-LGBTQ attitudes moreso than other branches despite inclusitivity training

That woman looks very.......interesting.

At first you go "Well that sounds crazy who could act like that?" and then you remember shit like that actually still happens. The Blizzard story sounds insane but at this point it's almost certain most if not all of the allegations are true. Anyways yea this is obviously discrimination given that it occurred as she says which I don't immediately have reason to doubt.

If they don't want to promote her then why approve it at first? Did they think promoting her would get her to grow her hair out then realized it wouldn't?

So I think what happened is she was offered the position while she was deployed and they hadn't met her until the deployment ended. But the military should have photos of everyone they deploy. What she looks like wouldn't have been a surprise to anyone.

The more I think about it the more it sounds like she didn't get along with the people she was working with and wants to make it about them being at fault.

For males. And its not that is has to be short. But has to fit the rules set
