The part of that 2 hour video where he goes into how they either desperately pander to already rich people or run their forced meme shit into the ground while ritualistically maintaining the stuck up personality to try and trick each other made quite an impression on me.
I mean could they confess any louder that NFTs are in fact not the future but more like the part of the time stream they're in has broken off and formed a whirlpool?

I think most people only hate NFTs because they thought they were something else at some point.

Gamers pay money for worthless digital shit all the time. When we learned about NFTs it was probably along those lines of "I can buy worthless crap on blockchain and resell it for profit, like items in an RPG."

the concept itself is kinda cool imo but for some reason every nft is either ugly as shit, or stolen from the actual artist
and then there's the environmental impact on top of that

But the recipt garners no rights to anything. The images have nothing to do with the NFT, really.

Like, i'm pretty sure you can just copyright art and then sell the copyright, which does confer rights. A process that NFTs pretend to be but are obfuscated by technology so people don't understand that this isn't what is happening.

this is kinda true but twitter introduced nft profile pictures for example so when services offer shit like that NFTs can probably be like "unique" avatars not bound to a video game

but when it comes to "regular" art that isn't meant/suited to be a profile pic i'm still a bit confused what the point is
especially when it's not even sold by the artist a lot of the time

I hated NFTs long before the monkey thing took off

I dunno if I'd go as far as saying no one would hate them... but I really do think that if they didn't look so awful they probably wouldn't be treated quite as vehemently
