Kinda forgot what happened last season (or I guess this season under this ridiculous notion that we can take almost a year off and be counted as being in the same season). Hard to know who to root for at this point besides against Zeke and worst-character Yelena! Anyway not a ton happened here; luckily I procrastinated on watching this so I can continue right away!

Quick spoiler free review of The Batman: doesn't really drag despite its length, was pleasantly surprised by the high Batman to Bruce Wayne ratio, really good soundtrack

Also it's a very dark and serious movie, so if you're hoping for some lighthearted fun like in an MCU movie, this isn't for you...!

Attack on Titan Season 4.2 Episode 4:

Well, that happened. Weird power for the Attack Titan to have, even if the whole "can see the future" was foreshadowed when Owl brought up Mikasa and Armin to Grisha before he even left for Paradis. Didn't have "Grisha redeemed" on my bingo card for the season but here we are again. I also feel like a lot of this probably doesn't hold up to scrutiny: Grisha hypothesizes that the Attack Titan has a passive that causes its user to rebel against control. Okay, I'll buy this as a kind of inverse Founder where the Will of the First King takes over the user. But it's immediately undercut when Future!Eren basically brainwashes Grisha into slaughtering Freida and her family against his will. Not to mention the philosophical question of whether this whole predestined future because I can see the future therefore it must happen is itself a form of control. Or the other philosophical question of whether the whole "Attack Titan makes the user rebel against control" is itself a form of control in that it may not be the user's actual desire? idk maybe the show will address one of these but I doubt it tackles all 3.

An-y-way, nominally I feel like Zeke should still have this because other than him being shook by all this, nothing changed in regards to him being in control here. But Eren just demonstrated that Zeke (and even Frieda/The First King) didn't know all the mechanics whereas Eren very well might because of future sight hax so he probably went into this with a plan/way to win. Curious to see how at any rate.

I think I got to the last 50 episodes. When it gets very story heavy I lose interest though.

I still need to get around to watching the Gintama movies at some point.

Yeah I like the story heavy stuff most of the way through, but it started to wear on me a bit once the balance became like 90/10 serious/funny. I still enjoyed it overall, though

Okay, so to make sure I'm understanding this correctly... the original Cloud who grew up with Tifa was just some kid (did he even join SOLDIER?) who probably died back in Nibelheim, and our Cloud is a failed Sephiroth clone? And the one who actually experienced the destruction of Nibelheim was Zach, and Cloud has some of his memories? Does he have the "real" Cloud's memories, too?

And then the original Sephiroth also died five years ago, and the new one is also a clone? Was this cloning before or after his mental breakdown?

Whirlwind Maze is meant to confuse both Cloud and the player

also the translation kind of confuses the player here because they never properly explain what they mean by "clone"

Also I gotta wonder what the death count is for this series because they aren't shy about killing large amounts of civilians!

oh hey I actually finished the first Wheel of Time book recently

Pretty good! The pacing dragged here and there but I enjoyed pretty much everything after they got to Caemlyn. Strong cast, liked Rand/Perrin/Egwene especially (and Mat, for the parts where he wasn't possessed). Interested to see where it goes for sure. Man, they really just left Thom's fate completely uncertain all book. Hoping he's not dead despite setting off every death flag imaginable because I liked him a lot too!

...I almost feel like it was a mistake to watch the Amazon series shortly after, because all of the changes just came off as weird and generally not for the better. Feels like Rand got especially done dirty and I didn't really care for a lot of the added Aes Sedai stuff. also a bit concerned about future spoilers especially given everything that happened in the finale but oh well

I don't think the finale spoils anything major for future books especially since it diverges so much from the ending for the first book anyway

I'm not sure what season 2 of the show is even going to do!

Attack on Titan Season 4.5 Episode 4 complete!

Well, that was a wild episode. I didn't expect Grisha to turn on Eren and side with Zeke. I wonder what sort of future he saw (presumably the Rumbling being unleashed on the world?). Grisha has already said that Eren is going to get everything he wants, so I don't think Zeke is as in control as he believes himself to be. If it becomes a battle of wills between Eren and Zeke, Eren is going to win, and this episode clearly demonstrated that.

The live action WoT series doesn't really spoil much for the future! Some of the people who die in it survive for the whole novel series, for example. The only thing I can think of being a 'spoiler' is introducing some of the Aes Sedai early, but I wouldn't really say that spoils much of anything.

The tendency of the later Jordan books to focus on a single character for huge swaths of the books really emphasizes how boring some characters' storylines are, Elayne included. She does get a couple good scenes in the book though!

I've enjoyed her scenes with Aviendha, but Aviendha is awesome in general.

Also I'm kind of annoyed that none of them seem to feel bad at all about abandoning Mat, whether it's trying to send someone to rescue him or even feeling the need to tell Rand what happened to him.

So he goes from one loaded division where he's on the worst team to another!

The girls treating Mat poorly is an ongoing theme! Though I think that's the last time it happens.

Oh, I know. It almost felt deserved early on, but it just feels worse the deeper into the story you get and the more heroic Mat becomes.
