I just caught a shiny alpha walerin (sp?) giant walrus thing, never used one before. They any good?

Walrein. I used one in... Ruby or Diamond I think. Worked well for in game battles, but then again everything does. If you like him, use him.

I need a water type, I have a naughty alpha gyarados, timid alpha empoleon and just stumbled on the walerin on my way back in from catching those lol.

Is there anyway to proc space-time distortions to grind for pokemon?

I think that's an ice Pokemon which are basically glass cannons.

If you see any "baby" Pokemon like Pichu, munchlax, bonsly, magby, etc make sure to throw them at least 5 Oran berries before catching them. Except munchlax that fat ass needs 20.

They're kind of rare appearing with about a ~5% rate in the place of their evolved counterparts and don't have any research tasks besides catching them and feeding them. It's imperative to complete the Pokedex entry asap with them or you could be hunting for them for a long time.

Would that just be the easiest method to get them to evolve quickly? Or are they ones you need to feed for the PokeDex?

Oh one more really important beginner tip. Due to a bug, a Cherrim that has transformed is impossible to catch. Don't even try.

Went into a time-space distortion... I was up in a cliff and all of the Pokmon were spawning on the ground below. I just started chucking a bunch of ultra balls down on them and caught a lot.

I just had an alpha eevee and an alpha infernape kill themselves with double edge and a shiny chimchar disappear when the Pokmon I threw right at it decided it was more important to gather berries instead.

If you have quick save on restart shinies are static to the zone

I have auto save turned off and it was an outbreak of chimchar for the shiny and one alpha, then a distortion spawned after and I lost the other one :p

I feel bad for forcing my character to wait for a distortion in the Alabaster Icelands, where she's shivering constantly lol.
but the game is making me stay here for an hour waiting for just one distortion, so we're even.

Speaking of the icelands, I love how frost appears on Dawn/Lucas as well as their hair. It's a neat effect.

Shit, I accidentally evolved my Rowlet before I could finish his research tasks.

Now to look for another. SIGH.

What's the best way to grind money?

Catching mons. Catch 30 with a back strike and some alphas for good money.

Use Ursaluna, you will find he digs up a lot of star pieces and star dust, but save the latter.

Alternatively, space time rifts always have star pieces, star dust, as well as red, green, and blue plates.

For 10k you can get a recipe from the crafting guy that let's you craft star pieces, which sell for 5k a pop. It uses star dust and plates. Just grab every plate in a space time rift when it appears(as well as the special items that appear), then craft. I got like 3 in one run once, as well as catching 30 mons, it gave me about 40k in one trip. 25k from mons(obviously depends on star rank) and 15k from star pieces I crafted.

But I just bought a ton of medical ingredients so I could craft a ton of revives and hyper potions lol.

In hindsight, it's really fucked up what our good buddy god did to Ingo. Separated through both time and space from your twin and the person who cares most about you with no notice or justification.

Like, we at least got the whole Isekai rundown. He apparently got nothing.

Yeah self destruct doesn't kill you anymore. It makes that one lake spirit super powerful.

Mass outbreaks are deterministic.

That is, different combinations of catching and defeating the pokemon will lead to different outcomes.

I got a shiny sliggoo in an outbreak after defeating 3 in battle. But this one ran away before I could catch it.

After a soft reset, I went back and caught them all. No shiny.

But then I reset again. This time I battled 3 like before. Lo and behold the next one was a shiny just like before.

This is huge news for shiny hunting

Boy do I wish I saw this like 24 hours ago. I knew something was up when a level 37 red/yellow HP (because it kept healing with draining kiss or something) SLEEPING cherrim broke out of 20 straight ultra balls, only for me to turn around and catch a ~5x alpha something on one try.

Also how the fuck do Scatter Bangs work? Like 60% of the time I try to use one for dex completion purposes, it just doesn't work. Do I have to alert it first? Do I sneak up? Hit it directly or just hit nearby?

It's doable for ghastly/croagunk, but I literally cannot get one to work on Chingling.

That seems like a waste when there are some many ways to make money. Granted there's not competitive play or battle tower thing so might as well.

Every level 60+ alpha you release gives a grit rock I have over 100 of them and you only need 36 to completely max out a team.

Try using stealth spray and maybe smoke bombs too

I went fucking nuts having a panic attack looking for the shiny Zorua at a Zorua outbreak and I didn't see it and somehow the math conspired that it was a shiny haunter the whole time.

I just wish Gengar's shiny wasn't so disappointing. Haunter's and Gastly's look great!

It's the same with Garchomp, tbh. Gabite has a fantastic shiny, but Garchomp's is disappointing. Love Garchomp and Gengar's megas though.
