At least one former and 17 current NBA players have lucrative deals with Chinese companies that the U.S. government has accused of being complicit in human rights violations in China's Xinjiang region.
As the U.S. and other countries grow more vocal in denouncing China's actions in the region, Congress has repeatedly called upon NBA stars to drop their deals:

Good on Congress if that's true. Really need to cut ties with China and say fuck the money. We need find a way to survive without China money and that goes for everyone, not just NBA and NBA players.

I love China. I have no issue with China or the Chinese people. And if I had the funds, I wouldn't mind visiting myself to see what it is really like over there

Also, I'm sure whatever issues ESPN has with China will not prevent their coverage of the Beijing Olympic games this February

According to reports they were slated to send 4 employees but are keeping them home for safety reasons due to Covid. But they're still planning on covering the event remotely. I'm sure they're still going to take the advertising dollars generated from that.

So much that I don't see us getting away from them but you gotta start somewhere and I'm hopeful that it will start some kinda trend to make things better.

I'm sure at least 50% of the electronics we use in our homes have parts produced, or assembled in China, if not 100%
