Disney has Marvel.
Warner Bros. has DC.
Universal has...?

It might be interesting if they invented them from the ground up. That would put everyone on even footing since you wouldn't have the people who know how the story ends in the comics.

Alternatively, I'm sure there are still some comic companies out there that haven't been snatched up. Was Image Comics bought out by Marvel? I'm pretty sure Dark Horse is still around. Or do I have that backwards? It's been forever since I've read comics.

Though, to be fair, that may be what they're doing with the purchase of He-Man and She-Ra. They could do a He-Man movie, a She-Ra movie, a Teela movie, and a movie with a Black male version of He-Man introduced in the second He-Man movie. The combined franchises certainly have enough heroes and villains to fill a dozen movies.

They tried the monster-verse and then bailed on that iirc.

Apparently Image has a universe. Supposedly Invincible is part of it, and the most famous part. But it seems like the connections and crossovers are more loose than with DC and Marvel. It's not as interconnected but supposedly do live on the same earth as each other

The Mummy 2017 was a huge swing and a miss.

The plot is nonsensical and they give a bunch of shout-outs to things that are on their way in as-yet-unwritten sequels instead of focusing on taking things one step at a time.

I had no idea Invincible was a part of the Image universe.

Someone told me it was. I possibly misunderstood. But I think they have done crossovers with other image super heroes

But I mean, Invincible itself would work as full fledged universe. If they made movies for all the different side characters
