I have 1 Jinzo and 2 Royal Decree in my Monarch deck specifically because Eldlich decks are so common. If this game was best-of-3, they'd be in my side deck. Decree is easier to use on a moment's notice, but Jinzo can be protected from effects with March Of The Monarchs once I get it out.

He really liked going into Sky Striker Ace Hayate, the one that can attack directly. I think his whole strategy was to keep the opponent's monsters from doing anything with QMF and the various Sky Striker spells/traps while he keeps chipping away 1500 at a time with Hayate. It's definitely one of the more unique Sky Striker decks that I've seen in action, and it made for a really fun opponent.

Speaking of Eldlich, I switched over to my side account where I have an Eldlich deck myself, and I just made a Drytron deck ragequit with it. I went first, set 5 and passed, and activated Skill Drain in the middle of his combo (his summons and combo were unaffected) so his Herald Of Ultimateness would already be negated when it came out. Then I activated all 4 of my other traps, he took the bait and threw away his whole hand activating his Herald's negate ability only for it to be negated by Skill Drain, and then he scooped.

All the respect for playing monarchs in this format. I have moved away from both my trap based decks because of all the extra backrow hate. Also people are busting out all the cute soft lock decks that they just flow chart to platinum.

I tend to get people that always want to play it out. I have seen some disgusting top deck heroes in this. But when I play people with platinum borders they know when they are beat.

Now that more people are starting to play Droll & Lock Bird, can we get some card sleeves of bunny

I say it's a "Monarch" deck because it runs a lot of the Monarch cards, but really, I win most of my duels by getting Vanity's/Majesty's Fiend set up. A lot of the time, if I get one or both of those up and March Of The Monarchs protecting them, then a lot of people/decks just can't do anything about it and scoop.

Interesting indeed. I can see this deck becoming even stronger when Sky Striker Mobilize Linkage arrives. One Hayate would dump Roze (or Raye if Roze was summoned) then Linkage would give their other Hayates 1000 bonus attack so that would be 2500 direct attack instead of her usual 1500

Its really fun when someone tries start combo with Drytron and I shadoll schism into Winda. Good luck ritual summoning now.

I faced an annoying ass Shaddoll deck with my Prank Kids. I made a Critical misplay that didnt allow me to use butlers ability twice. They got Mechaba online and my Kids was done.

Overall my interest is waning a bit. Duels take a lot out of me, no deck is easy to pilot in this meta. I wish I wasnt sick and could rattle off tons of duels to get to Plat but I think I need to settle for gold.

That's a pretty good start already. Some considerations might be Nibiru, Crossout Designator, Forbidden Droplet (if you can afford to discard), and Droll & Lock Bird (potentially stronger than Ash Blossom vs decks like Drytron)

Predaplant Anaconda is a staple for any and all decks that fusion summon. Cystron needlefiber gives you easy access to the rank 3, Selene, Queen of the Master Magicians, who in turn enables easy access to rank 4s and powerful boss monsters such as Accesscode talker or borrelsword dragon.

And if you can't handle the discard cost of forbidden droplets then dark ruler no more is a solid alternative.

Oh my gosh I forgot all about this topic.

Trying to help out friends so they don't waste gems is hard. D;

Wew lads. I made an Eldlich player ragequit. I banished his 1st one with Onimous Omen and then he flips skill drain. I'm chilling with a D.D. Crow in-hand and banish his 2nd. He searches the 3rd and I Maxx C it since why wouldn't I? What do I draw off of the Maxx "C"? My 2nd D.D. Crow. Rammed into his Eldlich and he got his 3rd one crow'd. As soon as I targeted he scoops. It was great.

My chat was flipping out when I topdecked the 2nd crow.

I'm doing pretty good but the vertigo sucks since it's still there when I'm shifting in bed. Laying flat all night sucks. Still can't play games long the bright moving things are too much stimulation.

I now have four different Eldlich decks done on my side account, plus two more Eldlich builds that I have planned but don't have the gems/materials to build yet. I don't know why I'm having so much fun with Gold Daddy Eldlich in this game, but he's great.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Is there a secret pack I should prioritize if I'm not specifically going for an archetype anymore? I already got all the Shaddoll and Invoked cards I need from those packs, and anything else I need is just 1-of's from packs, like that Predaplant Anaconda.

There are two routes you can do

If you have plenty of UR mats and you only need 1 UR from a secret pack, I suggest just crafting that UR. Because the gem drip after the initial first week or so's burst isn't that great and you might get the itch to try a different deck or variant.

Now if you don't mind spending your gems and are set on just the one deck, then go ahead and try to pull for that one UR or so. You can always make an alt on a phone or somewhere else if you have the itch to try different decks. But usually I try to conserve gems unless I need at least 2 URs from a pack

im against a relenquished deck and all my monsters have crap attack cus i play stall style

On my alt, I've been playing a bit of Gustos for old time sakes, and I didn't know they got new support, but the new supports are actually quite good. Gustos still have the effect of being able to have an out to just about any boss monsters, but they are still weak against multiple negations sad to say. I use a Windwitch engine to bait out negates or eventually summon my own negate in Crystal Wing. But it's quite fun when it goes off. I just need... called by the grave and like 5-6 other cards that I don't have on my alt

My packs were pretty dooky too and my only Sphreez is my crafted one. Didn't even give me Pilica's synchro. Either way, it also gave me a core for Ritual Beasts

Pretty sure you can. Once you hit Plat 1 you can't fall out of it though

Ranked mode in general is pretty ass. I really have no idea how long they are going to let OTKs be 75% of games. Not only that but the longer they let it go the harder it is to shift away. Any bans are going to mean a lot of wasted gems.

You mean like doing 8k dmg per turn? That's been YGO since like GX. Well there were talks of making LP 12000 etc during the 5D's era, but seems some community playtesting concluded the games take too fucking long for no reason. Generally if you're in OTK situation, you're gonna win the next turn most likely, so you're adding additional turns to lose slower.

I think the moment I stopped caring about ranked and just did a dumb throwaway game for my 3rd ranked of the day (doing the max gems from daily method which needs 3 ranked), I actually started enjoying the game more. The mid Gold area is generally pretty enjoyable. I think it's a bit too easy but more enjoyable

Still in Plat5 and I just got OTK'd by the most galaxy brain Exodia deck that I've ever seen.

Dude was straight-up using the Exodia pieces for Synchro and Link summons to run through his deck until he got all four limbs in the graveyard and two Dark Factory of Mass Production to bring them back to his hand once he finally drew the head. And it was all made possible by that god-forsaken panda.

i think we are getting to a point they may have to just ban exodia i know he is the original win monster

but ppl keep coming up with ways to summon him easy and it ends up banning cards that where fine out side him

No, every Exodia deck loses to a single, well-timed handtrap. They're all gimmicky, glass-cannon decks that rely on luck to win and have zero win-con if they go second.

And it requires the Exodia player to not brick, and it requires the Exodia player to win the coin flip as well.

Exodia is a canary in the coal mine. Generally if Exodia is too good, there are some OP generic card advantage cards that actually need to get hit.

The thing is though that Master Duel is best of 1 so there's no side deck. An Exodia deck hard loses to a single Droll & Lock Bird, but not everybody runs that in best of 1. But people do all run Called By The Grave and even D.D. Crow which can just banish an exodia piece, the latter even if you lose the toin coss.

Thats not what I mean. Gran Maju is a cool deck, getting attack up to one hit levels is perfectly fine. Its Rhongomyniad turbo so you literally can't summon monsters. Or summoning True King of All Calamities turn one. That D/D monster that turns off all cards for the turn its summoned.

The only way to have a CHANCE of stopping these plays is draw the right combination of hand traps. Because all duels are single games you cant side deck either so its a toxic circle and has nothing to do with "new cards bad".

Man, I had a terrible night tonight. It took me 13 duels to get the 4 wins I needed to complete the daily "2 ranked wins" challenge on both my accounts, and I'm not sure the 4th one even counted because the server went into maintenance and booted me out right after the duel ended. Of my 9 losses, 6 were me getting OTK'd (4 of those by Exodia), and of my 4 wins, 2 were Exodia decks failing their combo and 1 was a disconnect. So in 13 duels, I only had one single win that actually felt satisfying, and it was the one that might not count due to the maintenance.

OTK means one turn kill, which generally just refers to being able to do 8k dmg in a single turn. If you're talking those like "can't play ygo" cards, the community usually calls them floodgate cards, even though cards older than Floodgate Trap Hole exist but are still ironically called floodgates lmao.

But yeah floodgate cards are generally hated by everybody, but sometimes they're a necessary evil. Ban them all, and you'll just see a bunch of other decks have no counters

XYZ cup is here and it's awesome. They've banned all of the non-XYZ decks (like Eldlich, True Draco, Dogmatika, Monarch, etc) and also a lot of the OP cards (like D.Barrier, Contact "C", etc). People will have to build actual XYZ decks and play it out. Zoo will likely be dominant, but this looks fun!

O_o yeah I think in terms of Xyz centric decks, it's gonna be filled with Utopia or Zoo.

My Xyz pool is dooky so I probably won't be partaking in it. All in all actually, I don't think I can do anything but Link or Fusion cup lmao. My Alt will crush synchro cup though

I literally do not have one single deck on either of my accounts that's remotely playable in this Xyz event thanks to this banlist. The only thing that I might be able to do is modify my Trap Monster Eldlich deck to remove the Eldlich stuff and just Xyz summon with my trap monsters.

I'm set for the eventual Fusion cup thanks to my Ancient Gear deck, but I've got nothing for Synchros or Links either.

Well I think the Paleozoics are also gonna be quite good. I totally forgot about frogs but they'll be quite a force.

I think they should've also banned Zeus though personally

yeah like I'm not sure what to think about an Xyz Cup, I imagine it's gonna be all Lyrulisc, Zoodiac and Utopia.

Bagooska will be the most important control card from the extra deck I imagine

there's some weird bans, like Interrupted Kaiju Slumber and Forbidden Apocrypha.

I was trying to finish a sacred beast deck with gems I just got because I don't want to run rank 8 blue eyes. Somehow I pulled a toadally awesome maybe this is a good sign!
