pegusus123456 02/09/22 4:19:11 AM #26:	Well, that was...kinda not good. For an episode 90% devoted to action, the action was not good and often downright silly. I already mentioned that dumbass spin the Mod guy did, but the way they just fuckin' clown car'd behind that one bit of cover instead of actually using their different positions to their advantage was dumb as hell. In fact, the vast majority of the action scenes just involved them sitting behind cover while being shot around. And this is probably more a flaw in Star Wars as a whole, but it's super dumb that no one really died in that shootout. You have a bunch of unnamed Mods and Freetowners, have the droid and the Pykes take a few of them out FFS. The blaster fight is just super boring because we see Krrsantan take like a half dozen of them with very little effect, so it's undercut by thinking, "Well, good thing Star Wars' future technology is so shit because one grenade would have ended Boba Fett's entire group." The entire series is also undercut by the fact that it doesn't really provide Boba's motivation. I can see that they were going with the idea that his time with the Tuskens made him want a "tribe," but there's just this huge disconnect between that and him deciding to run a mafia family in the middle of nowhere. You need to have a scene where people are being mistreated under Bib Fortuna and the other gangs. And if you're going to make a big deal about how people in the town are being ruined by spice, you also need to show ~~that~~. I didn't even realize spice was a drug until last episode. You also need to make him the actual leader of the gang because it seemed like Fennec was the one in charge 90% of the time with Boba just going along with what she was saying. This kinda didn't even turn out to be a good Mandalorian episode because him already reuniting with Grogu undermines the finale of S2 quite a lot. We shouldn't have seen Grogu after last episode - and honestly, we should haven't even gotten that end scene where Luke has him choose. There should have been a few episodes of Mando S3 without Grogu to have that mystery, to show how he deals with not having Grogu around. Oh, and the ending was just super dumb. If I lived in that city, I wouldn't be happily bowing to Boba Fett, the dude just invited a gang war and brought in a rancor that destroyed half the fuckin' city. 008Zulu posted... Watching Cad Bane get his ass whooped Tusken style was awesome. Seeing a shootout with accuracy comically worse than A New Hope was not. Watching the mayor and co get assassined was awesome. The fact that there was an after-credits scene was not. I like the idea of Boba Fett running the place to met out jobs and facilitate trading. I don't like the mix of quality. Shoddy special effects can be touched up in the future. Bad writing cannot. The prequels, for example, will never be saved by any amount of remastering. This was ok at best, but Mando S3 needs to up the quality again. I for one won't be sticking around for churning from Star Wars. It really wasn't acceptable then and it isn't acceptable now. There was supposed to be an arc in the Clone Wars cartoon about kid Boba and Cad Bane teaming up on a mission and Bane pretty much mentoring Boba. Boba is also sickeningly noble and good, and it just doesn't jive or work. Claiming the Tuskans changed him just isn't enough, as the series never shows any other side of him. Exploring this character arc to explain how and why he became a nice guy sorta fixes the one glaring problem from the Mandalorian show: wussified Boba Fett for seemingly no good reason. Now we have a good reason. They also did good things with Grogu's training. That episode was awesome.
