Just like No Man's Sky.

Will you be around for it?

comparisons to no mans sky are just flat out wrong. no mans sky was a mess because it was barely a game when it launched, cyberpunk was broken on old consoles that they should have skipped over instead of releasing on. the game itself is fine, its a bit bland compared to expectations but if you're playing it on one of the new consoles or PC its perfectly playable.

No Man's Sky also had the issue of the developers losing a huge amount of the game due to a flood.

Their publishers refused to let them delay the game further in order to keep working to get it up to where it should have been.

Isn't no man's sky more of an endless exploration thing, while if you already beat cyberpunk there's no reason to go through it again if all they do is make it crash less

I cannot wait to sneer at people for not knowing that we're all supposed to forgive the enormous scam. I am so pumped to do my part to rehabilitate the company's image.

No Man's Sky is a nonlinear survival game with some community aspects.

Cyberpunk is a mostly linear single-player RPG with no DLC or multiplayer. Even if the bugs are fixed, there's nothing new there for players to return to, even if they enjoyed it the first time around

I doubt it. No Man's Sky was just filled with promises that couldn't be fulfilled day 1, much less in a month or two even by a AAA dev. Cyberpunk has so many game breaking bugs that are difficult to fix.

not really. it was a busted mess on the old consoles (pretty sure it still is), and it had some annoying bugs on the other platforms, but there weren't more game breaking bugs in the game then can be expected in a "modern" release. they apparently fixed the more egregious ones, though i've not played the game since maybe a month after release so i cant say what has changed.

It does, but depending on what you play it on, they're mostly just amusing and don't affect gameplay, and is fine on modern consoles/PC

But on PS4 and Xbone, it's a lost cause. There's no salvaging the last gen versions

I am eagerly awaiting the PS5 version to play. Should be soon!

While maybe not as groundbreaking as some hoped, it seems to be a very good game when it performs properly.

the driving is bad enough in the game that you dont want police chases on top of it.

Well yeah, it plays fine on PS5, Series X and higher end PCs. I still want the PS5 version of it before I start, not just the PS4 version with stronger performance.

NMS has a lot going on. The hype engine was largely a result of different companies like Sony pushing the game as hard as they could, and the lead developer being very clearly afraid to tell people "no" during interviews. Resulting in an overhyped game full of broken promises. It managed to turn itself around because after the fallout the developer consolidated every single piece of negative press, compiled it into an action list ranked by playtime, and set his team to work fixing the game and told everyone to stay off social media until it was done. That level of freedom and flexibility is possible for an indie brand.

For CP2077 the game was broken from the beginning. The game was certainly worse on lower end machines, but even my 2080ti experienced several fatal glitches. I once walked backwards through a wall and fell out of the map, trees would warp and distort, quests routinely failed to load, or update. CP2077 wasn't just a matter of unmet expectations, it was a AAA studio pushing out a buggy mess and hoping nobody would notice.

Even if you fix all the bugs, the game is still just a slightly worse but more stylish GTA clone. NMS actually improved their game based on player feedback, I don't see CDPR doing the same here. Once thr bugs are gone they'll move onto the next big thing.

When the game was announced they were the current consoles so there's really no excuse for them not working well there, and they released misleading footage instead of being honest even though they were parading themselves as different and "the good developers"
