So you may remember this iconic scene in Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi greets General Grievous. He says "hello there. " https://youtu.be/rEq1Z0bjdwc

But then in A New Hope when he finds the unconscious body of Luke, R2 tells him to get back and Obi replies "hello there." It's brief but it's probably an intentional callback to earlier. That's just how he greets droids, maybe bc he doesn't actually speak their language.

https://youtu.be/oTV2tS4nRPE

I love this kind of shit in movies. Like in Endgame, when Black Panther knows Clint's name!

I always found it super weird that the Jedi wear robes in the Prequels.

Everyone wore robes on Tattooine (Sp?) because it was a hot as fuck desert planet. Luke wore robes, Uncle Owen wore Robes.

Luke stopped wearing robes when he left the planet and went elsewhere.

Also Ben is in hiding with a new identity and trying to keep that he is a Jedi secret. So why is he wearing Jedi Robes?

Why are they sitting around in lukewarm (no pun intended) skyscraper buildings on a mild planet in EP1 wearing desert robes?

It's so weird and everyone just accepts it as Star Wars lore.

It was a callback. They wore them in ANH because they wore them in the Prequels

Jedi are supposed to basically be warrior monks. People expect wise monks to wear robes as part of the aesthetic. The in-story reason is tradition.

I always found it mildly amusing that in the whole OT, the Clone Wars are mentioned exactly once.

That's what makes it an effective callback. No need to go overboard. Let the real fans catch those little moments of fan service.

They're mentioned by Leia and then by Luke. Same scene, sure, but at the time the Clone Wars were just some kind of mysterious conflict meant to give Obi-Wan a veteran backstory.

The name 'Clone Wars' sounds a lot more wild than what we ended up getting.

The original EU take on it was pretty fucking crazy. People ran around with clones of themselves, and the clone would have like, the same name as the original, just with extra vowels in their name. For example, Luke encountered a clone of himself later in the story named Luuke Skywalker. People speculated that Obi-Wan was a clone because they thought maybe there was an Obi-Two. It was fucking bananas for like two decades before episode II came out to explain what they actually were.

Yep that's exactly what I would have likely predicted too haha

I mean c'mon how can you not have body doubles in a war called the Clone Wars.

Nope. Instead they were all clones of just one guy.

Because creativity.

Gotta admit, as silly as the "Entire Army of Boba Fetts" plot angle was, it was still a better choice than what the EU did.

I think the silliest thing about it was the scale. An army of a million clones or however many there were is comically small for a conflict the size of an entire galaxy.

1 million is pretty tiny though.

Maybe if every planet was like Tattooine it would make sense but the prequels specifically established planets that are entirely covered by cities lol

The initial batch was a sample. Clone production kicked into gear once the war started.
