https://www.npr.org/2021/10/07/1015460605/gas-stove-emissions-climate-change-health-effects Personally for me, ....No. I cook a lot, and I have experience with both gas and electric, and gas is far superior. I had an electric stove for 2 years in my old apartment, and it sucked. I would find myself burning things, and hated the wait for it to "warm up". There's like a "crap factor" when it comes to adjusting how you cook on an electric stove, imo. One key advantage to having the gas is during a blackout you can still cook and use your burners. That is a HUGE deal to someone who doesn't own a generator or anything of the like during a power outage (especially during the winter where it would be difficult to start my outside grill). Now, one thing I don't have a lot of experience with are induction ovens/stoves. I've used that maybe a handful of times, so that's why this topic is here. Not sure how good they are compared to electric. I'm not going to give up gas anything until the government goes after the big boys, first. When I see the cruise industry finally being effected by their extreme use of fossil fuels or people who own private jets....then I will consider using other things. Until then, me as the little guy, I'm not changing. --- "With half my brain tied behind my back - just to make it fair." ... Copied to Clipboard!

Wouldn't a gas stove be better for the environment than an electric one anyway? If it is cleaner people will point out that we need to frack to get the gas and that's bad for the planet too. Because between now and then a gas stove is still more environmentally friendly. --- "History Is Much Like An Endless Waltz. gas is shit. its a huge waste and you run the risk of lighting things on fire. coil electric aren't great but induction ranges beat the hell out of both coil and gas. the major benefit of induction is that there's not a huge amount of waste heat produced. --- Taarsidath-an halsaam. one of my biggest paranoia moments ever was smelling gas coming from the stove It's peace of mind for me to just have an electric one for that reason alone tbh --- https://i.imgur.com/6cPXvLN.jpg https://i.imgur.com/hVC4i6j.jpg ... Copied to Clipboard!
