Putin wants to invade Ukraine because he's having a midlife crisis and Russia is shit at resource management. The Kremlin's making up a bunch of obvious lies as pretense to say Ukraine started it. Russia wants unfettered access to the Black Sea and to reclaim former Soviet lands with ethnic Russian populations, and to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO.
