George R.R. Martin is joining forces with Marvel Comics.
The Game of Thrones author is bringing his Wild Cards stories to the hallowed comic imprint.
Marvel is adapting Martins first Wild Cards book, which kicked off a long-running anthology series in 1987 with stories by Martin, Howard Waldrop and Roger Zelazny.
As my fans may already know, the Wild Cards World holds a special place in my heart, Martin said. So to have the privilege of announcing that an industry titan like Marvel is going to produce the narrative from the beginning as a comic book brings me no end of joy.

Why are people still shocked that grrm is obviously tired of the series and wants to do other stuff? Its procrastination 101, I know exactly what he's going through and what that's like, which is why I don't really cling to winds or dreams

Yeah, the funniest thing is that it's not like he's tired of writing about the Game of Thrones/Asoiaf universe, because he's written several things pertaining to the world in the past couple of years...it's like he's specifically avoiding the main plot line because he has no fucking idea how to bring all the threads together. He has only ever really focused on expanding the scope; he doesn't know how to narrow it back down again in a cohesive way.

Especially given that it's been like 5+ years since the last book he wrote that was actually about the main characters of Game of Thrones. There's no way he can remember all the little details. Hell, even his continuity guys might have forgotten half that stuff by now.

I mean his assistant went ahead and wrote a full sci fi series whose tv adaptation already ended too, all in the time before GRRM completed a single book
