No, but I remember when they had a live event to announce the release date of FFXV and then they delayed it.

It was the 2nd anniversary stream, iirc.

They also announced they had fired the director during the same announcement.

It was hilarious.

Actually the DLC was cancelled because the director quit because he said he did all he could FFXV and wanted to move on to a different project. I think he started a new studio called luminous or something.

Yeah, they had the Luna + Dragoon lady DLC, along with an alternate ending DLC on the way IIRC.

I really don't like the idea that paid DLC is supposed to fix a game that releases unfinished.

oh yeah lol. IIRC, It was supposed to be Sept 2016, but then within a few days, Persona 5 was revealed to be coming out in Sept 2016. So then Square was like "UHHHHHHHHHHHH! we're gonna delay it to Nov 2016" because they probably figured that they would lose out in a head-to-head against Persona in the same month lol

They did. After doing a bit of research about Japanese business practices, @Rharyx211 was probably right. Majority of Japanese executives that "step down" tend to be fired/let go. But to save face (PR move) they allow for the Executive to make an announcement that they're stepping down. So yeah there's a really good chance everything was underway but most likely something went wrong and we'll never know the true reason why.
