As someone who loves rock and never listens to hip-hop, I don't really care.

What I am curious however is the effort behind a song. I always thought it takes more effort to make a rock song, you need a guitarist, singer, bass, drummer ect.

With Hip-hop you need a singer and someone who makes beats right?

Whenever it comes to stuff like Babymetal, I'd have to agree.

There are so many "elitist metalheads" who are annoying as fuck when it comes to their "pure" genre. Whenever a band comes in to do something different, these people come out of their holes to start shit in comment sections all the times.

Its actually infuriating. I remember when Moa got shit thrown at her on stage presumably by these same people a few times.

Because it's been around a lot longer. Hip-hop will be dead 30 years from now as well.

Maybe 10 years ago I would have agreed but they both contribute about the same amount to music.

Let people like what they like. I do kinda hate that there are people who crap on old rock music calling it overrated and boring and saying it's just "dad/grandpa rock". That's just reverse snobbery in the same way that classic rock fans like to trash rap music or new music in general. If one doesn't like it then fine, but why disrespect it?

Rock is DEAD. Theres a reason no one likes it anymore.

No music genre is inferior to any other, it's all individual taste.

To me? I like rock/metal more than rap, doesn't mean it's bad though. I just tend not to like what I've heard which has given me a bias, but I like anything I deem good regardless of genre.

This is pretty accurate. If you like rock, it's easy to find these days with all the online platforms for music. Same for whatever your tastes are.
