Oh well if it's A1 then...it's a toss-up! We can get Kahuya or 86, but we could also get Persona 5 the Animation. I have no faith this will be good but I am tentatively excited for it anyways On one hand, the best parts about Automata were literally everything but the gameplay. On the other, I have no faith in an anime adaptation to capture a lot of what made it so great. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Tentatively interested. Automata was a game where I was mostly interested in the story/setting but stopped having fun with actually playing the game. On the other hand I could easily see the adaptation missing on the story front, but I guess we'll see. --- I didn't do guru this year but azuarc can be in my sig anyways. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I think Yoko Taro's storytelling style works best when it's interactive, TBH. There's usually a sense that the protagonist, while their goals and motives might be 'good' on the surface, aren't really helping the situation and are probably making things worse, and part of the appealing bleakness is that whatever's wrong with the world by the end is partially your fault. Take that away and it would be less compelling. Of course, there are plenty of side-stories that could be adapted to anime. If they gave us an animated version of the YorHa stage play, I'd be thrilled to finally watch it in English. --- The shattered stage is set and there's a role you must fulfil ... Copied to Clipboard!

If this is a straight adaptation, I'll be disappointed even if it's alright.
