LanHikari10 02/23/22 8:18:56 PM #1:	We got a script for augmentin for a kiddo for otitis media. Normal dosing is 90 mg/kg/day divided into two daily doses, which I see all the time. This script we got was for a dose of roughly 40 mg/kg/day. I ended up calling the doctor about it and she said she's never heard of augmentin being dosed higher than 45 mg/kg/day and she's never done anything over that. I pulled up some sources since she didn't believe me and she told me she'd have to call me back. Ten minutes later she called and told me that if I go to drugs.com and look up augmentin under the pediatric section, it says 45 mg/kg/day. I was kinda shocked that an MD referenced drugs.com to me and it took me a second to really know what to say to that, but I told her I have other sources in front of me, including a pediatric medical journal, that references 90 mg/kg/day. She told me she would send a new script "against her better judgement".
