Sheriff Scott Jones told reporters at the scene that the mother, who was out of town at the time of the shooting, was talking with authorities. Jones said the mother had a temporary restraining order against the estranged father. That temporary restraining order should have prevented him from having a firearm, according to a domestic violence expert.

and i bet he didn't have to go to some "black market" to get it. It was probably easy as fuck for him to obtain one legitimately. And even if someone got it for him, that person won't be punished for it like they should be.

There's usually a reason, and it's difficult to tell if there will be a breakdown.

Thats whats fucked up tho. Most of the time there is a reason. But we also sometimes have cases where parents are simply being vindictive against each other with no regard for the children. And as long as we have those people constantly crying wolf itll be impossible to properly set the correct boundaries case by case.
