Has the beginning of an invasion ever been so disastrous as Russia's of Ukraine?

Russia's president Vladimir Putin has rejected every opportunity for peace for a full scale invasion. The resistance of the Ukranian president and people have brought the blitzkrieg almost to a standstill.

Getting something so wrong requires an error that is extremely basic. I believe the missed calculation was a difference in spirituality.

Putin used words and deeds in support of the Eastern Orthodox Church to consolidate his popularity. His actions are a complete hypocrisy toward Christianity even by the most cynical standard. But by improving the church's reputation, he created among his dissidents an army of faith whose thoughts and prayers have stabbed him in the back. I imagine something similar happened in Ukraine itself. Democracy, especially when born from tyranny is protected by powers we do not fully understand.

The tactical reasons Ukraine is holding strong change daily. One day it is a woman with sunflower seeds. The next it is a former president trying to die ahead of the current one. Millions of people connected with their inner self and asked for help, and then touched something that led them to move forward and be that help.

One must acknowledge the power of evil is strong. Putin... has so far demonstrated a very shallow understanding of it.
